Mine's bought from Lycos, I pay about £5 a month. They have some sort of software programme where you design your own site using templates but I'm not keen on them (my website has been 'under construction' for months!)

I bought some web design software for about £50 but haven't had the time to work out how to 'publish' the designed website onto my web space (I don't know much about this kinda thing!)

I rang up a company that design websites etc. they wanted £500 for a basic website, when I told them I was looking to spend about £300 they told me they couldn't do much with that?!

I'm sure someone on here has offered website 'stuff' before, you'll need to do a search.

My website is crap - www.kingfisher-ccs.co.uk one day I'll make it look nice! One day......

these are 2 links to websites

http://wwwserver.co.uk  ß Web Hosting/Domain Registration - either £25 for 2 years or £50 for 2 years depending on what you want.

http://www.templatemonster.com  ß Pre-designed website templates to change as required for your personal needs.

I have only glanced at the template one so far so I don't know how useful it is.  If no good, try doing an internet search on free website templates

hope this helps

Thise links are for hosting and wont cover designing at all, i'n taking it you want the two... or at least help with the designing??

I can give you a contact who did our website for about £250 - its five pages long and he helped me sort out everything from email addresses to hosting details and content.

Let me know if you want this.

Hi,

I also design websites.

I have recently designed one for another cleanitup forum member. The website is:

http://www.cardiffwindows.co.uk

I could design you a website for between £150 - £200.

Let me know if you are interested. andy@scs.uk.com

I did my site myself, using Dreamweaver.

Dead easy to use, uploaded the site onto 123-reg (£30 per year)

Up and running, nice and easy.

Hi all,

My son set one up for me over xmas after he did his own. Having said that he bought my domain name about £4.50 for 3years, and a hosting site/company/server space about £4 a month.

Then he left me to it saying he would help me soon, so I'm an impatient sort of guy who gets bored easily. So tonight i started poking aroung in there and found the hsting package had a 3 page web building programme included, it's taken ma a couple of hours to work out how to work it.

What do you thing about my first try, it can be changed, edited added and redone at any time, this is really just a taest page instead of the host's standard "this domain has been bought" etc

thedrivewasher.co.uk (http://thedrivewasher.co.uk)

And my son's (Chris's)

I had the same problem (no money but wanted a web site) but decided on the only realistic way I could see. I had the option of having a basic 3 page site made for £250 which would have been the easy option but the site would still need maintaining and updating and I had no idea how to do any of this so I enquired at the local college about a dreamweaver course. The course was part time over 13 weeks of an evening so I fitted it in with work and it only cost £240. Although this was nearly the same amount as having someone else build a site for me it has allowed me to build my own site (with as many pages as I wanted) and update it any time I choose without the additional expense of having someone else do it for me.

I'd recommend this way to anyone wanting a web site versus any other (if you have the time to do a course that is). I have even made an absolute killing designing other peoples sites in my spare time and designing company logo's and flyers so there are definately more pro's than cons going down this route.

Hi Karl

I took my site down last week to update it as I'm going to make some major changes to it but you can view a site I'm in the process of making for my son who does Parkour. The address is www.theurbanlemurs.co.uk. It's a work in progess and I'm still waiting for the lazy little git to give me some video footage and pics to add to the site lol.

You can`t run a business and use pirated software :-X :-X
and then tell everyone on here that you do :-X :-\

But serious they come down on businesses using pirated software alot harder than they would an individual.........................Beware :o :o :o :o ::) ::)

D'oh I didn't say I used it for my business! I did use it to practice on though while I did my course and I know all about the piracy laws la la la. It was a kinda try before you buy thing and if you don't agree with it then nobody's forcing you to go down that route but for others (like me) it gives them/ you a chance play around on it before they make the decision to buy it-  coz it don't come cheap!!!
