Title: What to keep in mind when getting Van insurance?
Post by: [GQC] Tim on January 16, 2007, 05:52:06 pm
Is there anything I have to keep in mind when I'm gonna buy and insure my Citroen Berlingo?

It's gonna be my first Van, and would like to know what to think of. Like what if it breaks down, do insurance s get you a replacement vehicle?

Any ideas would be very welcome.

If you are using WFP, make sure you tell them if you have a water tank/extra battery.split charge relaypump installed.  Some companies won't cover the vehicle with a water tank, some will.
I doubt any insurance co. will provide a replacement for breakdown but it's probably possible to get one while awaiting accident repair.

Are your tools covered by insurance if your van gets stolen? ie. Third party fire and theft?

Not with basic vehicle cover.  It is possible to get such insurance though.  I was offered such insurance by the people who do my public liavbility cover.  The terms were so restrictive though that I didn't bother.  I'm sure there must be better deals out there but I just didn't look.

I see, thank you for the help. :)
