:'(i have just moved into my new house and realised we now have a water meter. I did ask the previous owner before i moved in and was under the belief it was not metered, i know its my stupid fault for not checking with the water board first. I have wfp so the running costs will be sky high, is anyone in a similar situation? and are there any ways around this? other than moving!
i have emailed the water board but i dont think for one minute they will revert it. ::)

i have,
mine has gone up about 20 quid a month over more than 2 years, now it would have gone up a bit anyway
its not a great deal of money

how much on average do you use matt.

we have to pay an additional charge for using water here (commercial water rates) on top of paying for our home rates, however, we can use as much water as we like, I think we use about half a million litres a year for round the house and wfp (including waste water). The house rates are over a grand and the comm rates are another £300 or so.

i live in yorkshire and used to use what i wanted on a fixed monthly direct debit about 40 quid, but now i am on pay as you go it will will probably go through the roof.

Is that including waste produced by an R/O or resin produced only?

RO based, i use a 50 or 60 Gall per day RO with DI to polish
i have a little tap on the output thats closed "slightly", this slows the flow of the waste, thus it should produce more pure water
the RO is allmost 3 years old, i havent changed anything on it in that time
