I just use a normal stanley blade in a stanley window scraper, I press straight down so that it acts like a guillotene (spelling)
I never have any problems though, whether I use that method or cut em' with a scissors, but then, after 23 years I've cut thousands of rubbers, so I've had lots of practice! ;)

They are fine.  The first rubber I cut with them I broke the blade though.  I was amazed how easily it went through the rubber so I didn't press so hard next time.    :)
