I have been thinking of buying a W F P system. While the salesmen say they are the best thing since sliced bread people I have been talking to have brought up a few issues such as

when working at 60 ft, how far away from the building do you have to be?
This is because the potential customers are facing main streets.

When at 60ft and it is windy are the poles hard to handle?

How do you explain to customers that it will take 2-3 washes before it is clean?

There are no W F P systems in my area and loads of potential but I would to get these issues cleared up before I take the plunge  ???

I have never worked at 60ft but 30ft i have and at that height i am approx 10 ft away from the building, on other occassions i am less than 5ft away at that height due to main road.

When its windy and going to 30ft its ok, just rest your pole on the building as you are going up.

As for explaining to customers this is the easy bit and its best to be totally honest with them, dont promise everything will be ok on 1st clean. Yes sometimes it is but sometimes it is not. As for telling them 3-4 cleans everything will be ok, it can take alot less or alot more, if you have been using fairy i will tell you now it will take longer. If you are one of the lucky ones that use GG3 or GG4 then you should be fairly fine with them all, you might get the odd one.

I would and have advised all our customers  to become "experts" before attempting to use a 60' pole.
You wouldnt have started window cleaning using tripple 18' ladders, you learn and work your way up to this height with confidence, experiance and strength.

Good advice from Glyn.

I would add that a lot of jobs are possible in medium to high winds at 30 feet but as soon as you go higher its a different ball game with 4th floor and beyond.

We have some jobs on the sea front not possible above 3rd floor when it doesn't appear more than moderately windy on the ground.

Also high polng best done with a partner for raising and lowering.
