Hi Lee,
Do Alltec sell the pumps. I'm curious as I have just brought an Aqua 40.
How do you find your Aqua 40 to work with, have you had any problems with it.
Regards rob-s ???

Check out Northern tools http://www.northerntooluk.com/
Or
Duel Pumps http://www.dualpumps.co.uk/
Both may be cheaper than any one else.

rob no not had any problems with machine whatsoever it is just that pump has gone and if i can get one cheaper it would be nice ;D
The only think that sometimes gets in my way is that on some larger jobs the capacity of the machine is not large enough when it comes to the time when i get next machine (soon i hope) i will be looking to buy the advantage model.

Thanks Lee for your reply.

Hi Lee
I presume that it's the motor stopped which is the fault. I run a shureflo 100psi too. More often than not it's the rectifier that fails (the electronics in the "bell end" of the motor with the carbon brushes.) If you're lucky, a new bell end assembly will repair your pump for probably about £25 to £30. This is a service component anyhow and I replace mine every 300 hours. If your machine has an electronic dial to alter the pump speed, these can fail too. I've by passed this on one of my machines as I never used the facility and it costs about £70 to replace. If a new motor is required, you may be able to buy the motor without the pump assembly (I know you can with a Flojet)
Safe and happy servicing:)

Thanks for that Ken
So how much do you think a new100psi pump will cost ?
Quite lucky today really as it packed up just as i fininshed my last clean
i am going to buy a new motor because i have work booked in for tues next week and i dont really have time to mess about trying to salvage other pump i will get my machine working again and then look at salvaging old on to use a a spare
so i am hoping to order one on monday and get it on overnight just wondered where i could get a pump at a reasonable price the other thing is can you buy pumps with a highter output than 100psi and if so is it worth buying one of these

How much? I haven't the faintest idea Lee. Which area do you live? there may be someone available for cash and carry in your area. EG A&M in Watford, Trevor Ives in Kidderminster and so on.
Safe and happy cleaning:)

PS
Shureflo do a 135psi but at a reduced flo rate. There are others available upto much higher pressures but I'm not too familiar with them. Higher pressures may require adjustments to your jetting.
Safe and happy cleaning:)

Lee, why not buy one of ashbys induction motor pumps it'll last longer and the PSI is135, I hear you can get 3-5 years out of them

Yep true enough I've had mine since Feb 01 with just regular descaling. (Probably conk out now)

Inc' VAT around £200. I've had one for 4 years, but its been in & out of about 6 machines, I fitted into a mates machine last October and he's still using it

i stripped the old pump down as Ken reccomended only to find it was rusty and sh*tty inside i would presume that this would mean i got a waterleak somewhere?
