I've had that a few times - more so since going wfp because the like to catch the system out. I had a lady moan that wfp didn't do as good a job as the 'old' way and left 'smears' and horrible marks. I told her I'd check it out when I next cleaned the windows. I left the windows an hour and then went back with my ladder and checked every upstairs window and, lo and behold, outside spotless as far as had already dried, but what she was seeing was mixture of dirty insides and 'blown' sealed units.

Yeh, thi does occasionaly happen.  I just point out that it's on the inside, politely! and usually they retreat with "tail between legs"!

Had one last week. New customer, old, well to do lady, known me from years back.  Apaint mark smack in the middle of a pain!  I saw it and realised it was inside.  As I moved on to the next window, up she gets, walks over the the window peering at the mark, opens the door (next to the window).
"David? I think you've missed a bit here?" She says.
"No, it's a paint mark on the inside" I reply.
She feels it and realises.  "Oh yes, I see"
"I'll scrape it off, iff you like" I said.
Popped in ,scraped it off, everyone is happy!!!

If the windows are dry, put your head close to the window and look across the glass, any marks on the outside can be seen, if it looks dull then its on the inside, shiny its on the out side, give it a try,
if its a double glazed and your not sure, put your finger tip on the mark and you can see straight away if its in our out, there is no need to stand there scrubbing the window.

I know if your wfp you can't do the above, on the upstairs but you can for downstairs,  its a good tip for the new trad guy's to try out.

I've got say that this techniqe works terrific and saves half the time redoing the window or scrubbing it with a scrim. Much easier and save half the time. Try It.
