hi every one
happy new year!
just wondered if anyone used a day rate for cleaning.
we have been asked to quote (ball park type figure) for a 5 bed house wich needs a total deep clean in all areas (heavy duty as expressed by the enquirer) elderly parents, house gone to u know what because they have become unable to cope.
They have asked for 3 days x 2 cleaners and then 4 hours per week regular cleaning.
slightly out of our area, being in the countryside, but we would like to help if possible.
im basically thinking the worst and then guessing as to a approx cost.
any one have any ideas?
thanks

We get this all the time i.e. clients saying it'll take 2 cleaners 3 days.
Go and look at the house, go through exactly what they want cleaned, then you'll have an idea how much to charge.

ive just realised the extrent of the enquiry. 48 hours over 3 days with 2 cleaners sharing the hours obviously.
would £20 per hour per cleaner as top wack be a ridiculous price to quote? especially if it is as bad as she says and judging by the hours requested, its either a very large house or is very dirty.
although im considering including internal glazing and internal windows & frames in this price aswell if time permits.
I wonder what the external windows, guttering, and carpets look like? 8)

I would times the usual hourly charge by 48 why should your hourly rate change depending on how many hours they have you there for. ::) by the sound of the place it`s going to be harder work and use more materials than the regular cleaning will, so It defiantly should not be cheaper, I don`t do regular domestic cleans, but I do one off deep cleans and I always quote high, but chuck in the carpet cleaning for free... I`ve only lost a couple, the ones I won have made up for them :o ::)

Lisa,
YOU MUST GO AND HAVE A LOOK, before you take these type of jobs on :)

I agree! Please go and look first then you will know exactly how long it will take and what to charge. Never ever guess. You could end up loosing out as it could be far worse than you think or what the client tells you
