hi all,
What is the legal height you are allowed to work off a ladder on your own?
And what safety precautions must you have in place to this? ie, self leveling feet, ladder mitts etc
Cheers

I am not quite sure but i think it is 6 meters, above that you have to tie the ladder to the building ???

Working at any height at all is against current H & S regulation if it's reasonably practical to do the job from the ground.

Hi tosh,
Thanks for your post and the rest of you.
The job I will be doing will be a builders clean so wfp can't be used the first time round.
All the windows turn inside out except the ground floor as they are the sash type. But I reckon the ground floor ones ar more than 6m off the deck?
What do I do?

As long as your risk assesment shows without reasonable doubt that the windows cannot be cleaned other than using a ladder and that you can use those ladders in a safe manner then you can use them.
