Hi all,
I have just won a very very good contract, but they require a method statement which I have never done before :-[
I have a meeting with the estate manager and the architect who is in charge of the project in about a month. They will walk around with me and help me with the assessment but I would like to be prepared in advance.
Can anyone provide me with a template and maybe give me some advise and pointers on this one.
Can't wait to show you all the pics of the daddy of all houses!!!! Believe me, my jaw hit the ground when I saw it at first!
Thanks in advance for all you help! (if I get any? ;D)

What is a Method Statement?
A work method statement, sometimes called a "safe system of work", is a document that details the way a work task or process is to be completed. The method statement should outline the hazards involved and include a step by step guide on how to do the job safely. The method statement must also detail which control measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of anyone who is affected by the task or process.
You have probably noticed that Method Statements are more and more these days being requested by organisations of all sizes and in all industries. The reason they do this is so they can comply with Health and Safety legislation which requires them to make suitable and sufficient enquiries as to the competence of any organisation they contract to carry out work.
Method Statements are frequently requested as part of a tender process which allows the company to gain an insight into your organisation and the way it operates. They allow your company to demonstrate how it can provide goods and services in a safe and high quality manner. For this reason Method Statements become another brochure for your company and it is necessary to have well presented documentation to gain a competitive advantage over your competition.

Thanks pole man!
They are only requesting a method statement for one of the houses. The big one!
All the windows turn inside out so I will revert back to the trad way for this one.
Please excuse me but I'm totally new to this, but as far as I can see, I don't think there will be too many risks involved?
All I will have is a stepladder and a bucket full of water!
Now, obviously the step ladder is a risk so will I need to show them how and what precautions I can put in place to minimize the risk? ie, signs, cones, tape etc?

There is a path at the top of the muddy embankment so cleaning won't be a problem!
The ground floor windows are the sash type and because it's a builders clean the bottoms will have to be done off a ladder. All the rest of the windows turn inside out and I will clean them all from the inside.
Then when I go back I will wfp the whole lot exept the very top which I will clean from the inside.
