A steam gun followed by a wipe with a small amount of solvent or Citrus Gel,  is a much faster, cheaper & more effective option.

I bought a steam gun several years ago, about £100 then but probably cheaper today !  It has been worth it's weight in gold for those sorts of jobs.

Alternatively use a Prochem Bazooka: http://www.prochem.co.uk/carpet_&_upholstery_cleaning_brushes_&_gum_removal_system.htm

bazookas i good i use one, but be careful cos you can easily burn holes in the carpet if it is held in one spot for too long.

I find it works better with a spirit rather than the freeze spray ;D

we use the prochem bazooka spray and gun and it does a really good job, esp in nightclubs etc, takes the hard work out of it if there are lots of spots to remove, but you do get through the spray fairly quickly so we always add an extra premium for this service.

Hi

Have a look at our video demon at http://www.express-cleaning-supplies.co.uk/oos/drysteamcleaners/550203.html and you'll see how it's done with steam and citrus solvent. The problem with freezer sprays is that it traps the fibres of the carpet in the gum and rips them out when it's removed.

The Steam Gun is currently £79.20 plus vat and is by far and away the fastest and most effective way of dealing with it.
