did you ever know of any government office giveing anything back !

sorry just can't think of it at the moment  but it just don't sound right

Having thought some more, i think you may be right
but i think under the volentary scheme
you can't claim back the vat on your expences
This woul be ok if you have alot of comercial work as you could easly charge vat and keep the 6.5%
but for most domestic customers charging vat my make you that little more expencive, or if you start on the scheme you would lose 11% of your turnover to the vat man
not a 100% sure but its somthing like that

anyone esle know?

Its the flat rate scheme for people with turnover less than i think 150k, but not sure
