As part of my Safe Contractor  I record all ladder details  every 6 months , like if I put on new feet or if I get rid of it.

Hi
If you employ staff, I see no reason why you can`t look over your ladders once a month along with the rest of your equipment. And do a detailed check every 3months. Remember safety for your staff is paramount. If they get hurt and they can prove it was your fault, they can and will take you to the cleaners.
Drill into your staff safety is Number 1

When i used to use ladders i always made sure i used a decent pair and the feet were good, as most will know using a ladder every day they take some hammer and soon deteriorate so i think a ladder log is a good idea.

Some of the ladders ive seen window cleaners use :o :o

no wonder there are accidents but it doesnt take a dangerous ladder for an accident to happen it could be down to the user

Every Monday morning all our vehicles undergo a thorough check for both the vehicle and the equipment.

This is filed in the office and kept as a record system.
