Title: Hose Reels?
Post by: Kev Loomes on January 04, 2007, 10:36:31 pm
Where is the cheapest place to get a hose reel for 75ft of 2" vac hose? I object to paying hundreds and hundreds - seems like a blatant rip off to me!

Any ideas?

your local wielder/fabracator could make you one up.

Hi

Try

http://www.aandmcsstore.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Accessories_14.html

Scrool down a bit, still £299 + VAT seems resonable to me.

IMO I'd have one fabricated to fit your needs and your van, saves space.

Well if ACNE welders make them and then sell them to SUPPLIER ABC and then the add 50% onto purchace price and then they add postage ???????

Go to a welder and fabricator show him a picture, show him your van, he'll measure wait for a week give him money, shake hands and smile.

Will save you buying a new van to put those extras in if you and he design it well.

if anyone is going to get one made and needs some photos & plans for a hose reel I have some on my computer, I can email them ( big file so must have broadband) they are not technical but would give a metal shop an idea of what to do

Cheers lads, Im going to ring someone tomorrow re: a reel apparently its small enough to hold up to 100ft of 2" hose, all I need is to locate a frame for it (or get one made).

The bloke I'm going to see on Friday said to me that he used to run up to 100ft of 2" hose (sorry for confusion).

Yeh I got the mytee! still installing bits and bobs i.e. tank, pump etc. Mind you I had a couple of floods due to crap fittings, 250 litres all over me van LOL. Sorted now though  :P

Kev,
If you're getting a hose reel made up I would go for more than 100 foot, cost for 200 or 300 is probably small as is space. I have used 150 foot on several occassions. You don't have to load the reel now, but you'll feel annoyed if in the future if you need something bigger.

Best
