Hi guys,
I was hoping somebody could tell me what the going rates are for commercial work do you charge more or less then domestic or does it all depend on the size of the area to be cleaned?
Matt

size matters honestly i charge day rate of 150.00
if they want a price be fair with them as it could lead to more work off them!
-
£150 per day is far too cheap. 250 and your're at a starting point. £250 per days only 1250 a week x 48 if you have 4 weeks holiday = £60,000, take off your expenses, allow for capital re-investment in kit and vehicles and your just about on a profit level for running a one man business.

i agree, your better off charging per area, i go for £2.00 per sqm.

Thanks guys, craig may i ask what you charge for domestic? or can you tell me if you charge more or less

£100-£130 per 'wand hour' is about right.
example: I do a residential home every 3 months, its a square building consisting of a corridor running around the perimeter 200m long 1.8m wide and a dining room & TV room. commercial glue down carpet, it takes a 2 man team 4.5hrs. i charge them £600

hi Matt
yes domestic i would charge more, commercial can be competitive, some companys just go for lowest bidder, others do realise they got to pay more for decent job, and will pay fair money.
you might get same or more as domestic for real small office or shop, but not larger areas.
Craig
PS. i did commercail recently took 2 men half day or bit more charged £550 so very simular to Mike as it happens.

cheers lads thats that sorted then :)

I might sub you in if your that cheap did an office took 3 hours £450 ;D
Normally try for 50p sq ft then they can negotiate but going in too cheap you have no room to lower the price.
Mainly use Dry Fusion on commercial work

Hi
Just to add some perspective.
I think that £150 for a full day is to cheap.
But charging £600 for 4.5 hours even for a 2 man team is leaving you wide open to the competition.
Dave
PS off course most of us dont go out drinking with the competition !
-
you're right Dave some some other companies around here would charge £200 for the same job, but the price isn't the main priority for this manager. he want an easy life,
he calls me, says the night he wants it done, then forgets about it.
he knows I'll arrive on time, be aware of the 'special' residents who will try and 'escape' through any door left open, and the job will be done right. He doesn't want to explain all this to a different company.
so pays me my price.

CRIKEY...You're charging this guy £2400 per year !!
The owner wants his head examined.
He could have a brand new carpet supplied and fitted for less than that every single year.
Am I right ?
