Title: glue residule help

can any one tell me of a good solution as to the removal of glue residule,
it is basicaly from the lines that had been stuck down in an indoor sports hall , really dirty as all the dirt has obviouslyu been attracted to the sticky stuff,

WD40 gets label residue off boxes and parts etc

   Have you tried polish as we use it and it seems to do the job.
