Title: Vac pipe joiners
Post by: calmore on December 21, 2006, 05:44:56 pm
Anyone know where to get 38mm OD (?) tubing to join vacuum tubes together?

I'm forever losing the bits that I have. The UPVC stuff in B&Q are different diameters.

Any idea what they are listed under, on the website?

RS do a 38mm O/D plastric tube, I'd considered buying a length and chopping it up.

Woodbridge do them but solutions sell the best ones i have used as they have a rib around each end of the connector which stops the pipes from keep coming apart, approx. a fiver each

Dual pumps sell these in various sizes from 1/2 inch up to 3 inch.
1 1/2 inch are £1.92 + vat & delivery.
The part number is HM150. These are the barbed type and very robust.
We will be stocking a range of these in the new year but not yet unfortunately

I can't figure why all the joiners I have ever seen go inside the cuff, further reducing diameter and restricting flow. I cant see any reason why the hose cuffs can't slide into something instead.

As vernon says it's 1.5" OD, which equates to 38mm. The closest I have found in B&Q is 40mm which is a tad too big.
