i remember reading about someone putting some sort of alchohol in the tank so the water didnt freeze on the ground.
Do any of you do this. If so what do you use and how much do you put in. I trust it doesnt affect the result.
It was barely above freezing today and i dont want to leave a hazard.

just throw grit down if you are at all worried about causing a hazard. ;D

Be mindful when putting down grit that you are acknowledging that there is a hazard present and if someone slips over that you can still be held responsible

dunno what the best thing to do is. was looking at the water on the ground today and thought , man this will be lethal tonight. Only just started wfp and never had this problem before.

Good point chris, but I think there may be some grey areas again, If you don't mind I'll start another topic on the subject using your quote, to get more opinions from the guys on the subject.
