Hiya,
Don't panic , it the time of year, people are tightening their belts!!!!!
Don't worry once new year is over and everyone has got over the xmas after math then thing will start to trickle back in!!!!

If anything I have seen a big increase, I have seasonally targeted customers in my marketing, telling them its not to late to book for that xmas clean etc have had 2 x £300+ cleans a week for the last 4 weeks and this week are advertising for more staff, I think it will depend on where you live, most of my big cleans are yanks going back to the states for the holidays. its always best to adjust your adverts, keep the same theme but look at what you are saying, my next big change will February when I will be pushing spring cleans, will start planning that in Jan 10th, good luck, merry xmas to all, kind regards Phil

Hi,
We've had a couple of Xmas clean enquiries, but I was unsure of how to price them . . .
One-off cleans are a bit of a blind spot for me - I can price commercial cleaning all day long, but never seem to be able to price a one-off.
Do you use your standard rate + a percentage?
Feel I might be shortchanging myself!
-
What I do is see how long it would take you and apply your huorly rate, standard 3 bed 2 bathroom house would take a total of 10 hrs = 14.50 per hour £144.50 + vat try to link sell your other services carpets, oven etc to bump it up. last week we did a 2 bed 2 bathrooms oven clean and all carpets came to £359 with vat. you do need to allow enough time to do it right and properly. cheers Phil

It's been the other way here for the past month i have had 3 calls a week for regular cleaning. Unfortunately i work on my own and my books are full. Most cleaning companys round here like to do the commercial contracts so i collect all the domestic ones. Happy Days!!

prestige, can i ask what services you provide in a 10 hour clean for a 3 bed 2 bath house, cos for a standard clean i wouldn't spend 10 hours in a property that size, and even if it is a full top to bottom spring (or winter) clean i wouldn't spend 10 hours in a property. i would get laughed off the premises if i quoted 10 hours, and that would be with a living room, dining room, kitchen probably util and maybe even a conservatory. now if you are adding the insides of windows too then maybe 10 hours is right :)
-
Yes inside windows are included, you know as well as I do, you could spend 20hrs cleaning and still find things to do. I find if you charge top dollar you have to deliver top cleaning and it takes time. Phil

right now that makes sense, but you know down here in the good ole saf west, customers would rather not have the insides of their windows cleaned (unless absolutely necessary, in other words couldn't see out of them lol) just so they could save a fair few quid, cos I have to be honest with you, I charge £10 per hour and even at that price I get some people who state it is too expensive.
course when you have some competition in the guise of people working for minimum wage, on the side, cash in hand, with no insurance, no holiday or sickness cover etc etc, the people of Plymouth would be moe inclined to go for that and save themselves half an hourly rate...........its called being tight lol
aussies are the worst (no offence to any aussies on the board) ;D
