Title: IS IT POSSIBLE?RO QUESTION.

I have just bought a booster pump for my 40x40 RO.

Iam going to install it tommorw. But I have been thinking since I have been to the garage to decide how to connect it.Have I wasted my money on the Booster pump.

I moved my pressure washer which sits next to my RO unit. I thought why dont I just take off the lance hose and connect a half inch hozellock fitting and connect it up to my RO unit.

Would it work?

If it does I will take my Bosster pump back to machine mart. If Steve from Freshwater is about can you tell me if its possible, or anyone else.

I dont want to damage my RO membrane but I thought it was worth asking.

3 things:

Can you reduce the pressure from your pressure washer to around 100psi?

What flow rate will your pressure washer provide at 100psi?

Will the pressure washer motor burn out if left on continuosly for a few hours?

If the answer is no to any of these then the pressure washer is no use for boosting your ro

My immediate thoughts are these, although I have no technical knowledge to back them up,

1. Surely a pressure washer is not designed to be left running for hours at a time, motor will probably go

2. Would have thought it may damage filters &/or membrane as pressure will be too high.

I will have to check what pressure my Pressure washer normally cleans at.

My pressure washer operates between 500psi and 3000psi.
