Looking to have an extra machine, cant decide which though. I like the idea of perfect heat on the CFR and the solution tank lasting so many times more (saves keep re-filling ;D ) but I also like the idea of the power of the MYTEE which is a fair bit cheaper ;) But I also like the idea of the SCORPION with the power and the option of extra tanks.
All got similar psi at 500, but its the other things that count. What do you lot think - it's doing me head in!
Kev
p.s. why cant there be a machine that combines the psi with the best CFM, instant heat, recycles, has auto dump/refill, good price etc etc?
-
Depends on what you clean and what you are used to, also do you run long hose runs?
For more power you have to trade heat and visa versa unless you buy an inline heater, but you'll have to find more sockets.
I've had a CFR and like alot of cleaners didn't get on with it, they are possibly for a select few.
The Mytee is spoken well of by Chris Straker and I have a Mitey 1 not to be confused with Mytee. The Mitey 1 is very much a baby Scorpion but it's light and easy to use, I use it for spotting and small jobs I have recommended it to some people.

hi shaun
not lookin to stir porty against truckmount
but do you find life easier having a porty on van for small jobs rather than using truckmount
whats the mitey one like
darren
p.s kev i wood say mytee what have read seems better value and good all round quality
-
How much is the mytee speedster kev??
-
Shaun
Looks a hands fool to carry for just a spotting job and at £600 plus; smallish job still run the hoses out. ;D

Hi Fibrefresh
I've heard that the speedster goes for £1,650.00 + vat, plus hoses, tools etc. But even so a dam good price!
-
I bought a Mytee from Matt at Cleansmart-a lead given to me from Rab-cheers for that, I can honestly say on performance it gives an excellent clean, customers are extremley happy with the outcome & the carpets are usually dry within an hour. After sales service from Matt is spot on as well.

Tony,
I have been uming and arring about purchasing a Mytee the spec looks very good and i like the idea of leaving it in the van on some jobs as i have a 400ltr tank in there.
What machine have you been using before the mytee? and did you go for the auto fill option?
Rob.
-
With the Mytee, they say at cleansmart that they have 2 internal heat exchangers. Are they optional? and what is the heat like running from cold water?
-
Come on guys - anyone?
What I think maybe ideal is this:
Mytee Speedster
2 tanks from the scorpion range
Wonder wand
CFR handtools
The benefit of this setup is:
1. Instant heat
2. Tons of water and auto dump
3. Double the CFM against the CFR
4. Competetively priced
5. Still be able to visit apartments by remaining portable
6. Better results on UPH with the handtools
7. Dryer carpets with the wand
What do you reckon?

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Received delivery of the Mytee today. That's where my heads going.
Will try it out tomorrow, and post back.
-
hi kev, u will not get anywere near enough heat of a mytee heater running from cold water it be luke warm at best , u got to fill up water tanks with hot water, dont buy the water tanks from scorpion place they are so over priced and only hold about 125ltr ,buy a 400ltr tank from cleantech for about 120 pounds ,
although the mytee is a good machine and good price its not as good as the ninja , i know this as i hav two mytees and ninjas, and the mytee has two switches for the heater but it is really only one heater it has two switches because of the way it is wired
-
Kev I spoke with matt from cleansmart and he advises not to go with auto dump due to them getting blocked. Just buy 25ft of dump hose and put it to your nearest drain.
Rob.
-
Rabby
Cheers for that, I'll await your response!
Gary
Thanks for the info, are you running older Mytee's? are they the same as current ones do you know? They have 2 internal heat exchangers, is this not sufficient? I understand you run an Ashby's V2 heat exchanger - any prob's to date?
Rob
Ok, mate thanks.
I still cant make me mnd up ::) All I want is LOTS of instant heat, lots of water (recycle CFR? or tanks), but it must remain portable! ARGH. And anyone dont say go buy a truckmount!!

Gary,
do you have a waste tank? i would have thought thats easy just put a tank inline of your vac hose, just before the machine, am i right?
agree with you on them scorpian tanks, well over priced for what they are,
Craig
-
hi no i dont hav an extra waste tank i use auto dump with 40ft hose, mines never got blocked, to hav a extra waste tank it would hav to be a scorpion one as they spec made for vac suck a cleantech tank would prop implode on u i recon as they pretty thin compared to a machines tank
as for the mytee heater mine are 2000watt but i am sure u find its just one heater but has two switches because of the wiring setup, mines is def just one heater but has two switches
-
The heaters in the new mytees are two seperate 1kw heaters put togeather.
-
how effective are these heaters? i notice on the cleansmart site they say that add cold water and you get instant hot water at the wand!! i e-mailed matt and he assured me this is a great machine. price is wildly different though- on cleansmart they are quoting £2000+vat. on woodbridge by phone £1990 including vat.
-
Woodbridge are advertisaing at £2145 + VAT? Look on 'what's new'
http://www.wcsuk.com/
-
Yes that's right but I phoned Daniel who quoted me £1990 all in. Got it confirmed by e-mail.
-
Hi Dennis
Is that just for the machine?
-
hi dennis, the heaters are okay but u hav to start with hot tap water, and they dont come close to the performace of a v2heater
p.s steve still think u wrong on heater , hav a look inside u machine if it was two sep heaters u hav two lots piping going into it and two lots coming out
-
The heaters work seperatly as the have their own wiring and cut out switch you can turn 1 on and not the other .I think they go through one heater then onto the other one before heading towards the wand. They dont work aswell as a v2 steammate though.
-
Gary
Is this 2 heat exchangers? This is off the woodbridge site for the Mytee.
-
yes that is def two heaters
-
So, just to clarify.
The Mytee has 2 heat exchangers (not 1). Does anyone know what the wand heat is like?
Did the older Mytee's only have 1 heat exchanger?
If this setup with 2 heaters is really good, how does it compare with the CFR perfect heat system - who claim to have the best 'instant heat'?
-
hi kev , the old mytee had just one 2000watt , the new one has 2 x1000 watt heaters , (sorry steve u are right) but they would both performe the same same watts, the v2 is one 3000 watt heater which will and can prouduce steam at 100ft in bursts and maintain temps of 70 plus with cont use , but it still needs a hot water supply to do this , the mytee ones will not heat the water fast enough to keep up with the v2 , the cfr claims are bull
-
the cfr claims are bull
Is that politically correct? ;D
-
lol
-
Kev,
I used to use a Cheyanne-which was ok to start off with
but the performance of the Mytee far outstrips my old machine, I like it because you can leave it outside, although it is whisper quiet!!! (NOT!) & comfortably clean upstairs etc with the hose provided, it does take a while for the water to heat up-but I have the machine primed & the heater on as I'm cleaning & pre-spraying-one problem it bloody hurts when you drop it on your foot when taking it out of the van!! I didn't go for the auto dump as said before it's just as easy to attach a hose. The bottom of the recovery tank is inclined so you don't have to tilt the machine to get all the water out. It'll empty into a bucket without any problem, & flush it away down the toilet. (as reccomended by our local council!)
Cheers Tony :D
-
Gary
How do you pre-heat your water supply - before you leave in the morning? or do you have a connection at the custy's house?
Sorry for all the questions, lol.
-
hi , i fill up at home with piping hot water in my 400 ltr tank
-
In my opinion the mytees heat exchanger is better than the perfect heat.
I have used both machines.
-
yes if u look at thier charts on thier web site they are compareing with just 1000watt heaters etc etc not with 2000watt or 3000watt heaters
-
Gary
All is clear now! makes sense. Crafty with the figures on cfr site as you pointed out. Thats marketing I suppose ::)
Steve
Thank god someone with an opinion on both the CFR and Mytee! :D Overall would you say that the Mytee is a better package than the CFR - not disputing the fact that the CFR can last longer with its recycling abilities?
-
What we need is a good old fashioned showdown speedster v scorpion tested side by side? Would that not be a true test anyone up for that?
It seems on the other forum JB is disputing the claims made by cleansmart ref the speedster but Matt has no reason to lie and I'm sure he would back up his claims by carrying out a demo to prove his point or is the speedster outselling the scorpion ;D
-
it's easy to beat the mytee with a scorpion....
just put on 200ft of hose
Shaun
-
Matt has never claimed to use 200ft ;)
-
There is no comparison? scorpion has 3 vacs with 326 cfm and a pump putting out 500 psi@2.5 gal/min, thats a third more power and is why there is no internal heat as it takes current and slows the motors.
And we all know drying times depend on other factors like humidity and wand technique.
Speedster is a nice budget machine, get a demo of both and decide what your company can afford and needs, there is no perfect machine for everybody ..
-
Yes that's right but I phoned Daniel who quoted me £1990 all in. Got it confirmed by e-mail.
I e mailed Woodbridge earlier re: above, they said that they dont remember talking to you and that the kit is £2,200.00 + VAT :o Whats going on there?
-
IMO heat is one of the best parts of the cleaning pie, also 4 gallons a minute would be better for flushing dirt out so I'd say get a TM.
As for 200ft of hose (I have never ever used 200ft) well that's the arguement depends on what you want the machine for?
I once spoke to a maufacturer in the US about cfm and he said that porti CFM is only good when the wand is OFF the carpet, if you want real CFM get a TM, that will flow real air on or off the carpet, but heat will always be heat because hot water is hot water PERIOD.
I said Yes every bloody night in our house!
Shaun
-
Kev Imo apart from the fact that the cfr and the mytee are extraction machines they are both different. you can use the cfr at 500psi with the wonder wand and get excellent results and very good drying times and the machine is made very well. On the downside you dont get the heat of the mytee and you have the recycling to contend with love or hate it, cleaning filters etc. The mytee has a better than average airflow and i think for its size and weight is a very good machine. The scorpion has i think better performance but no heat and looking at the build quality you either like it or not.I also have a Kleenrite machine not as good airflow as mytee or scorpion but has better heat but is quite a bit heavier.so all mchines have good and bad points you have to decide what is important to you and how you clean.

Kevin
I have the e-mail saved from the 9/11/06. send me your e-mail adress and if i can figure out how to, i'll send you a copy of that e-mail. the guy i spoke to is Daniel. when i originally e-mailed them to question price they quoted £2000+, but then confirmed by e-mail Daniels offer of £1990 all in.
-
Hi Dennis
You've got mail!
-
Thanks for all your replies.
I have got the Mytee on test next week from Cleansmart - he seems pretty genuine. I will let you know how it goes. My thinking is that I will mostly run it from the van - it has double the cfm of the cfr and better heat. So this option sounds best to me. Plus its cheaper ;D
It seems that Matt has given me a better deal than Woodbridge ???
