Squeaky thinks this place is the Alamo and he's Davy Crockett!

Hiya Im still Trad but will be getting WFP in the New Year, but will continue Trad and just use the pole as and when required,
-
Some of us wfp user's still use traditional methods daily. Some with 20 + years under there belts. Because wfp is new to many thats why it dominates many threads.

I know mate. It's pathetic isn't it?
This site used to be helpful for window cleaners.
Now it's just so people with unreliable machines can solve their many many problems.
It's hardly ever to do with window cleaning now, just sweeping.
If there's a trad problem I'll try to help, but it's dominated by wfp now.
Lots of sheep on here.
Away from the forum it barely exists.

Hey, are you insinuating it's not a helpful forum?
Who gave you a couple of rubbers recently when you posted here that you'd ran out of them a couple of weeks ago?
Tch tch.
-
Yeah, cheers.
But who never even acknowleged they got some back?
2 x 14" rubbers, and I gave you a 36" back, that's fair.
More than fair actually, I gave you Pulex.
You gave me one Pulex and an Unger hard.
I'll use that as a scraper blade. ;D

Okay, thanks for doing me the favour mate. I didn't realise it was 36" as it's still in the packet and I haven't used it. I only use 14" squeegies, so you can have the remaining 8 inches back if you like.
But yes, thanks for the favour.

...so you can have the remaining 8 inches back if you like.
That's a new experience for you isn't it? ;D

-
Im mostly trad too by the way ;) ;)
and proud of it!!!! ;D ;D
-
Trad for nine years, but sending my order of tomorrow for wfp, but will still keep my hand in on the trad never know when you need it.
-
trad for 9 years.wfp 1 month.dont like it
-
Im wfp upstairs, trad downstairs!
But have 3/4 days of trad only on my round just so i remember what a ladder is for, nearly had to get used to it this year with the worrying drought!!
It makes a change on my round doing the ladder/trad work and i really enjoy it, as i also do when doing the wfp.
I understand some wfpers on here also enjoy the change!
PS ducky i didnt like my first 3 or 4 months but give it time, you may have to adjust some prices too!
-
thanks mate its the boss he thinks it a toy.use it one month on a house then do it trad the next month he is nut.we use it for woolworts mostly.
-
Trad at the mo but Im gonna go for it when Norwich win the league :-\ and splash out on wfp.

trad and wfp
i like both, they both have pro's and cons, so i use whatever suits the job best.i'm not pro' wfp or pro' trad. i look at it like this- i have two methods/options to do the same job.nice ;)

Roy
Heheh, nearly! hes 6'5"!

I'm 99% wfp but still use Trad methods now and then. (Can't wfp when cleaning inside ;D)
WFP shouldn't cause arguements on here as it's just another tool to help us do our jobs. It's just up to you if you use it.
How many garages do you see un-doing wheel nuts by hand? They all use an Air Ratchet now because it's quicker and easier - another tool to help them be more efficient.
See this going down the usual road of WFP 'V' Trad ::)
Find this site very useful for info on both methods.
-
I'm traditional...love traditional...my customers love traditional...that's good enough for me!!
-
Im trad but going WFP after xmas but still use trad on some...
Bazz...

WE ARE ALMOST ALL TRADITIONAL WINDOW CLEANERS.
There are one or two who have gone straight into 'sweeping glass', but most have been cleaning windows the best/easiest/most profitable/life sustaining way for many years.
So what do you need to know grasshopper?

Traditional Only

I use trad just about everyday...what I don't do is work off ladders.
WFP doesn't replace trad, it only replaces ladders.
As is contstantly said, it is just another tool in the window cleaners armoury.
I think that although the majority of posts on here are on WFP issues, whenever someone posts a trad question it is always answered in some depth.
With my moderator hat on, I personally try to ensure a Trad thread doesn't get hijacked into a WFP one.
I think - at least recently - most the trad threads have stayed on track, though sometimes it is hard to keep up to speed as there are now so many new posts every day.

From what I understand from Terry's posts, he's 100% trad and uses poles (not WFP ones) for 1st floor windows.
I'm guessing that he has a mainly shop based round.
