Don't care what anyone says but a licence is NOT a legal requirement it's just a council preference!!! >:( >:( >:(

I dont have one and was reported by some fool.

The council came round to my house and tried to stop me from trading. I told them where to go. I think they have given up on me now.

NO WAY WILL I EVER HAVE A LICENCE!!!!!!!!

was the police with me mind i told you my last one lapsed by a few moths becase i moved house
well belive it our not it was the same two police men nearly three years to the day
i just wonder if they were checking there computers that day and got a reminder funny that eh
i showed them mine and my staff showed theres no prob nice as nine pence
but i was thinking would it not be easier if starting a new area to actualy go to the police station with the squad introduce your work force and ask them to keep you on file this would surley be better than getting stopped in front of customers which lets face it always think the worst
i would if some one was working on my house and the cops stop two jump out take the workers details in there pad disapear then come back again  i would be thinking what have i employed here

When we send in for our license 2 photos are sent in, one is kept for their record. So whoever is doing the checking surely they should have a list of names and photographs so they do not stop the legit window cleaners.

Sounds logical to me.

Shammy you have mail. ;)

We have worked in Glasogow for  7 years and been stopped on numerous occasions for setting off people house alarms but never once have they asked to see our license. And it seems it is the same in East Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde. It appears to holds no value whatsoever.
And by the by which householder has ever heared that window cleaners need to be licensed? Few if any.

But obey the rules and sleep well.

Hi Alpha,

Thats why the SLWCN was formed to highlight the issues to local authorities.

Have sent you mail.
