Title: Can anyone provide some info on the improved BOAB from Unger?
Post by: [GQC] Tim on December 05, 2006, 10:01:16 pm
I'm using the classic one at the moment, which is okay, but not perfect, there is no rubber nicking going on because you can clamp an ergotech handle in the squeegee compartment. But I was wondering how much better the improved one is.

And could anyone please upload some pictures of the Unger one? I really would like to know how the squeegees are being held, because I definitely do not want nicks in my rubber!

The Pulex blue BOAB with space for 3 squeegees just looks like a terrible rubber molester!  :-\

I have two types of unger BOAB .
The classic and a newer type that takes two squeegies.

I prefer the classic as the squeegie fit better.

How exactly do the squeegee's fit in the new one? Does it nick? Pro's, cons ; anything?

im in the same boat.Ive got a pulex (blue) one and an ettore(black). They both nick the rubbers.I think its something they should address.Im sure i see something that fits in the squeegee compartment on a website. The good thing with the pulex is you can fit a scraper in the middle, and channels in the other two.It does hang low, though, but comes with a string which ties round the leg

It has a channel for each squeegie.
They should have made them a bit thinner as i think they are to big and the squeegie it really loose in them.
The BOAB is also slighty bigger than the classic version.

Stick with the classic IMO a lot better.

And why on earth do unger put a place for a scraper on both of these as if you used it anyway to hold a scraper the scraper just falls out.

The main difference with the classic style Unger BOAB is the fact you can only use it on the right side of your body, where as the new style BOAB you can use on both sides.

Yes it has been mentioned on many occassions that rubbers are being nicked, I have found that there are less complaints of this with the new style, although the blade protector that Soapnational sells is a great idea and I have recomended this to end users several times.

At the end of the day though BOAB are a very individual choice, we find that both styles sell just as well which is why both syles are still available and the old style hasn't been discontinued.
