Hi All, I am after some information from some of you experienced business people.
I am at the stage where I need to split my business down so I do not have to go vat registered.
Can i just write to the tax office and split my business down to two companies?
I am going to run one side of the business and my wife the cleaning side.
Is this straight forward or can anyone give me some guidence.
Thanks in advance

Hi,I am going to be in the same position as you,I was advised to Start a Limited company, and operate both as a limited company and as a sole trader, for larger contracts I will use the Company and on smaller ones I go under my sole trader name,as you are in Business with youre wife and its all ready running I would seek legal advice,as youre circumstances are not the same as mine the tax man might see it differently for you,(the tax man will tell you what the best way forward is)
hope this helps ???

If you go to HM Revenue and Customs they will point you in the right direction - trading as a limited company means you pay yourself an annual salary from the company account.
