just been rescheduling my round, (to accomodate for all those £70 houses im going to get lol earlier post) and just wondering how many of us are on the month?. Im filling my diary with all the dates for next year basing it on the month, ie: mondays to the next 4 mondays obviously weather permitting.
I get quite a few customers saying " is it that time already", is this how we all work or do a lot of you do it every 2 weeks?.

I started with calendar monthly but a lot of people used to send me away or ask for 2-monthly. In the end I went for 6 weekly across the board in exchange for not being sent away. I do have a few 12 weeklies but only with larger jobs. I try to discourage it by pricing these high.
-
We have some rounds which are every 2 weeks but on the same rounds we also have monthlys so we have to tender for them too. So sometimes it's a job to know which one's are due, unless we organize it of course!
It all depends on the customer! ;)
-
Sucks a bit, I really need some good 4-6 weekers, because big houses are nice, but usually they only want it done once every 2-3 months :-\ :)
-
I aim for once a month and if all went according to plan I should get round.
Realistickly I usually end up about a week late, most seem happy with this (as they were expecting me) and you get fewer "is it that time already"
I have a few that only want every 2 month,s who I pair off on the same round.
The couple I have on 2 week cycle are only there as I can pass there house most days anyway to fit them in.
-
I aim to work on a monthly cycle. Some of my customers like it done every 2 months, but most in the area where I live like it monthly.
-
The majority of my round is 4 weekly , i have some 8 weekly ( same price ) i refuse all houses asking for 3 or 4 monthly , and enough of them agree to 8 weekly !

Why do you charge the same for an 8 week clean as you do for the 4 week clean?
I only have a couple of 12 weekly jobs and i charge them twice the price for a 4 weekly.

90% of my work is fortnightly i like it this way as the windows only take seconds to clean , i have had fortnightly rounds for 12 years so dont see any reason to change now

95% of mine is 6 wkly I do also have a few monthly and a few weekly jobs , 1 bi-monthly and a few 12 weekly 6 or 12 is my norm though the 4 and 8 wkly pay a premium , but 12's are more than 6's naturally

Virtually all mine are on 6 or 8 weeks and George takes care of everything so I find it a breeze.
I really can't see how you can get away with 4 weeks with a WFP because the windows are still pristine even after 8 weeks and its a bit embarrassing turning up to clean windows that so obviously don't need cleaning.
One house today I had a good look at the windows after 10 weeks and if it was my house I wouldn't have been that bothered.

Crikey I'm doing something wrong here!....none but none of my customers are 2 weekly....most are bi-monthly (although reality is 10 weeks), a few are monthly (reality 5-6 weeks) and a handfull are quarterly (and here I'm fairly strict---a death in the family is no excuse to put me off :o....I jest!)
But seriously, unless the customer lives on the M25 every 2 weeks is ridiculous...no?

The only time I've cleaned window less than a month apart is on some shops - and even then some of them want monthly.

i live in rotherham and most of the window cleaners round here clean every 2 weeks , people come out and ask us to clean them and they ask for it fortnightly , i think we have got them well trained around here ;D ;D

;D 4 weekly down in northants/beds and a few 8 weeks but avoid them if poss ;D 2 weekly would be great but it dont happen down here
-
Same as you gary, 95% of mine are 2 weekly.
This is what is expected where i live and thats in CHESHIRE.
I just dont give them the option unless it,s a large house, like you Gary dont see any need to change my way of working.

I dunno what the going rate in Rotherham is for example a 4 bed house, but say for sake of argument it's £15 Xs 25 = £375pa....! 100 of theses and you've a tidy living....
Is there a Rotherham training school I can attend? :D
-
jus a question but do any of you who do monthlies and bi monthlies ever offer fortnightly
gary
-
After I've done someone 1st time round I ask when they want me back....never had anyone say in 2 weeks...most say in 2 months.
S'pose one of my bi-monthlies gives me £25....Xs 6 = £150 and I offer 2 weekly....chances are she might say yes but want to pay me £6 a clean....I mean she's not gonna say "ok Si £625 a year to do me windows"
-
my minimum charge since going to wfp is £10 fortnightly or monthly i dont do anything else ie 6 weekly
i have got some £4 houses but i can do 7 of these in an hour as they are all next door to each other.

In SW London WFP isn't an option I'm afraid....no parking!
-
we use backpacks 95% of the time and trolleys the other 5% so parking isnt a problem

I'll have a look into backpacks then and see if it's viable....I do a lot of leaded glass and WFP would save wear and tear on the elbows.
