DO NOT LET YOUR BACK UP FOR GEORGE LAPSE
You've guessed it, had a total hard disc failure on my work pc, didn't have george backed up - been meaning to get round to renewing!
I have lost everything - luckily I have not thrown away all my work sheets for the past 3 weeks or so, I can manage to put my work back together, but I cannot retake all the photos of my kids and dogs that are on the disc and not all backed up.
I am going to send the disc away for a specialist company to try and retrieve my photo's - not bloody cheap though!!
Hope it serves as a reminder to you all!!

Marc Al,
I covered this recently in a post. See here:

You don't need George to backup your customer data base; you can do it for free too in the link provided in the above thread.
I know no-one likes a smart-arse, but I can't help myself so here goes... I told you so! ;)
(Sorry)

I've not long started using George and back up every night to a memory stick
+ a 2nd hard drive in the pc.
If doing this you don't really need to pay George to back it up do you?

Sure i guess I could do that too if I could be bothered,
but £12 a year for peace of mind aint bad. Had to retrieve my back up a couple of times in the last few weeks, Pauls even answered e mails on a Sunday morning and had me up and running again. Thats what I call service!

2 Partitions doesn't make 2 Hard drives (for the less PC skilled people)
I have 2 hard drives, george installed on the first one, make my backups to the second one, and I have Internet backup by George Systems, thanks for the link though Tosh! Will have a go at it!
What you can also do, is get a Gmail account (2Gb of storage) and every time send yourself an email with the corresponding backup file where you've saved them on your PC
Or...get a Raid5 setup lol
