Title: stripping and re sealing lino stairwells
Post by: Fred Gullan on November 22, 2006, 09:16:21 am
Hi folks, havent been on this forum before but have seen your collective expertise and would appreciate your help on this. I have sixteen lino staiwells to strip and re- seal. they were last done five years go.there is electrical power available and water. What are the best machines and chemicals to use and what about foot traffic when the flooors and stairs are drying. Some of the stairs are four storeys high with landings on each level.
Thanks in advance

Fred

mix your stripper (I use evans vanodine chemicals)
drown the stairs, leave for 5 mins, aggitate (I usually use a stiff brush), leave for another 10 mins, suck up with your wet pick up.

mop with clean water (twice)

when you repolish  do half of each step, when its dry do the other half.

BETTER STILL GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT ;D ;D ;D
