Has anyone had to replace the printed circuit board on a sureflo backpack and if so how much ?
I have borrowed one off a friend and i have broken it, the switch was not working properly and now it goes straight to number 4 setting and will not turn off via the switch.

May be worth you contacting williamsons, I wouldnt be suprised if they can fix it.

Sorry Dave, can't help you much. Mine is not a Sureflo. But I have taken mine apart a few times, messed with everything. I guess you've already done that?
Make sure switch is making contact.

PJ,
Do you own a Matabi backpack?
Yes :-[

Hi Dave, I did a post about 12 pages back 'SHURFLO BACKPACK PROBLEM', similar problems.
Yes speak to Andy at Williamson pumps, the circuit boards can definately be replaced! The switch is apparently the common problem because it is the only part on the cicuit bopard not encased in the protective resin.
I have subsequently bought another Shurflo after my initial problems with first backpack and am currently monitoring my new one. My plan is to put some silicon around the switch next week to keep out the damp. Will let u all know how i fare!

when you get a new one, regulary spray the switch with switch cleaner or a little WD40 this will help prolong there life span and drive out the moister/damp.

I have had a closer look , if i tap the switch gently i can go through the speeds if i touch it normal it comes on setting 4 then wont switch off unless i disconnect the battery or stop the flow of water.
Regarding the circuit board have you tried heat shrink rubber,
Dave

I use a hair drier occasionally.
I know it sounds daft. But water and electrics is a bad marriage.
So I keep the pack as dry as I can.
Thanks Ben, It has served me well for over a year now.

Hi,
I also use the shurflo
can i ask you all how you tie the water lever to your side... so it doestn drag along behind you...
and all that bloody hose which should be up my pole when fully opened....
i just drag it round with me . ::)

Dave i'd definately say switch on circuit board, i know this is a big problem with shurflo backpack as i had a very lengthy discussion with williamson pumps, order a new cicuit board mate.
With regard to heat shrink rubber, where would i get some from? I still intend on trying the silicon sealant first.
I now bring my new backpack indoors every night to snuggle up in the warm!! Im going to order a new circuit board for my old one shortly so ive got a spare!
Gazzasp8, cos i do wfp upstairs and trad down i tuck the lever into my belt where my hip bucket is
