Timberland or Caterpillar, i,m in Timberland at the minute and have had this pair for 2 winters already, cost alot to buy but like my old man used to tell thers only 2 things you need and thats a good bed and a good pair of boots ! because if you aint in one you,ll be in the other.

Now those are some very very wise words. I took them to heart, my parents always say...if you get married, you need a good bed, didn't hear the Boots one yet! ;D

I have a pair of Peter Storm boots, like a hiking boot but with a rubber toe.  Cost £30 and have lasted over a year, nice and warm and dry in all weather.  Also have a pair of Timberland boots, really good, dry, warm, comfy, look good but were £95.

I bought a pair of SCARPA hiking boots 5 years ago for £120 :o :o :o
That is £24 a year!  Very cheap for excellent quality.
I now need a new pair of boots, although these will get me through this winter, just!
Totally waterproof to the ankles, warm room for thick socks and toes nicely spread.
Best boots I ever bought!  Probably more than £120 now.  The tread has worn low(really good grip + soft impact), but still completely waterproof.  I love them.
Don't know if I can justify £150 this winter, but I might!

Check out the name SCARPA.

Remember:  Buy cheap......buy twice....

I wear any decent hiking boots provided all the uppers are made from gortex. I usually pay £50 - £70.

There's nothing worse than having wet feet on a freezing cold day.
