Post by: dave washbrook on November 20, 2006, 09:56:59 pm
hi all

please could someone give me some advice on tds readings as i've heard people saying you can go up to 0.20 my tap reading is only 0.27 if i fill through my ro it takes ages but i get 0.00 however if i bypass the ro and fill through the water polisher i get readings of 0.07-0.10 is this acceptable or not if not how can make the filling up process quicker

any advice please

thanks

dave

Stick to 0, you can see rain marks left from 5ppm rain water. I saw this myself last week on freshly cleaned glass. Dai

You definately do not need an ro system with tap water at only 27.
A DI system will give you pure water on demand.

My tap water is about 27ppm and i use aprox 400l a day.
My resin will last about 4 months before changing.

Agreed!!

RO with that low level of TDS is a waste of money, get a resin cannister and use that, should last you a long time

You think that 27PPM is soft?   It is of course but a friend of mine has a TDS of 13 out of his tap.  Lucky g*t that he is!!!

You may find some DI vessels on ebay. Buy two if you can and your resin will last even longer. I have just finished my third bag since a year ago last august. I manage to get 5 months out of a bag with a TDS of around 52. Dai
