Title: Starting up as a Sole trader C.C.
Post by: Keith Dobson on November 20, 2006, 07:58:50 pm
Hi all, I was wondering how do you go about starting up as a sole trader, in terms of choosing a trading name and who do you register with?

2nd question Anyone know any decent sign writers around Rowley Regis / Birmingham and how much do I expect to pay? Suggestions very welcome.

Thanks,

Keith.

You just need to ring the inland revenue and tell them you are starting and what your trading name will be. You just need to think of a name preferably not the same as someone already operating in your area and make it sensible. Thats it really.

Try this company for your sign writing. They are cheap and easy to install yourself. I have two left hands and no patience at all however have managed to fit 3 of them to my vans.

Keith, register with the Inland Revenue as soon as possible,if you do not register within 3 months of commencement of trading you will be fined.
