Title: The Predator pole

Has anyone got - used - bought one of these Predators from Brodex?

They have a pretty good special offer for this month and the prices look good!

They said that was the special offer for last month and in November it was going up to £129.

I like the pole alot but they also said it was lighter than the excel which it isn't.

Its a good pole at £79, not for £129 though.

I have been using one for a week now and they are heavy !

When they are @ full stretch they don't half bend too.

Are you sure you are talking about the Brodex Predator??

We supply them and honestly, they are lighter, stronger and far more robust than the Exel Universal.

25ft Predator is 3.0Kg or 3.3Kg - I can't remember.

You say Excel Universal?

I dont get it. I thought there was the cheap\light excel or the more robust\heavier universal. I 've never heard of the Excel Universal?

Hi JMC,

Exel are the Company that makes the poles. They have 2 types that are marketed in this country, the cheaper lighter Extenders, and the Universal range.

I'm not the one asking - I know the difference between Exel Extender and Universal poles, supplied them for about 2 years.

The predator is lighter then an Excel Pole.

My freind as been useing one for a month, so he knows the diffrence.

I have Two of the prdator poles but they have not been used yet.

They come with a heavy vikan brush, If you swap it for a Salmon brush you will not beleive how much lighter it will feel in use, Plus it will eliminate most of the bend you get with the pole whan fully extended.

Brodex also use Heavy 6mm reinforced hose tubeing. Change this for lighter tubeing and you will reduce weight.

Sorry guys!!!

I put JMC, but meant to put TDW! the first line of his posting had JMC, which read to be his name but duh!! it's not.

We are just about to start stocking the predator poles, with all of our own standard hose and fitments and the complete range of brushes, for what we hope will be a very competitive price. This will be in addition to the Exel range and the Facelift range and of course our own Super-Lites.

I had a mental block. I was was mixing up exel and extender. What I meant was the predator is not lighter than the extender.

The one thing the predator pole as got that no one as mentioned yet is the new clamp that they are useing. Its fantastic so much better then the ones they put on excel poles.

They are supposed to have a longer life span as well.

So do I assume the clamps are more like the Brodex type or the extender type?

  I have seen it and my only concern is the metal end cap, if that is knocked
  against a car you will definatley scratch it. Prefer the plastic end caps that
  Gardners supply thier poles with, many a time hit a parked car and no scratch.

dont get the 25footer bends like crazy sent it bk
