In the next couple of months we will be having full training on Rope access and platforms.
From the people that are already in this realm what kind of insurance payments are you paying per year and who has the best rates - insurer - Price - number of employees.
All info greatly appreciated

Midas i dont know the answers to your question but have asked a few similar on here and I vaguely remember ChrisA saying something like 2000 quid per person
-
rope access insurance - £12,000 a year.
-
Foxman, i dont disbelieve you but thats a huge amount , is that per person or is that for a number of employees
-
Midas, it's the employers liability that bumps it up. As a sole trader I was paying around £700 a year. Now as a sole trader with 1 employee it has gone up to £1900, but it includes tools and equipment 5 million public and 10 million employers liability. As a limited company with 1 employee we were quoted around £3000 but each employee you have the insurance will increase by around £1500. We use Oval insurance in sheffield at the moment 01142 290 1133 is the direct line to Jonathan Ratcliffe who sorted ours out, but we will be changing to some one else who quoted cheaper, simply business 0845 450 9959 and ask for Peter Roberts.

No problem mate, let me know if you need any more info.
-
Chris , you say as a sole trader its 700 quid but can you work rope access by yourself or did you have another sole trader working alongside
-
Pat , I used to get the work in and sub contract to another sole trader who worked alongside me and had his own public liability.

Thanks Chris, that makes sense
