A broker company sells domestic cc jobs for you, to your pricing levels,in your area all you have to do is call the customer and book the job in to your diary.
Who would want the work , pm me if shy ,or dont want heckling by the 1000 quid a day boys.
Also please let me know what you would work for, eg,
lounge £?
lounge diner£?
hsl£?
per step£?
per seat of upholstery£?
Minimum job value?
The prices I am asking for , are the ones that YOU would be willing to work for, the cleaning broker would of course , add his fee, which you would forward on once the job is completed and paid for. This would be weekly.
If you for example did a lounge/diner for £55, the broker would want £6 for passing the job, if you, whilst cleaning that £55 job got the suite/ hsl or any other work , the carpet broker would not want any furthur fee! that is your customer and it is up to YOU to cultivate him/her.
THIS is a serious question , and I am asking for serious answers please.
The requirements for recieving jobs would be as simple as possible ie;
1, To maintain all treatment risks and pl insurance.
2, To stand by your work, eg , revisit if there is an issue relating to your work.
3, To have a positive, flexible ,can do attitude to building your business.
The aim is to get you customers, which you then keep.
Any thoughts.... good , bad , ugly idea?

jason i have just emailed you.
but just to add if you are offering a broker service and guarantee work at the cc's prices i should imagine you will be inundated with offers
-
what areas are u talking about,is it yourself or is it another company thats going to be the broker
george
-
George,
I am talking nationally.
I have a contact who does the same thing in another service industry.
Very positive feedback via email already, sorry to the couple who are in the £300/day plus league, its probably not for you.
I thought of this because I turning away a lot of this end of the market, yet see there is still a good living to be made from this market.
-
I don't understand mate how you would be able to do this nationally because if its people contacting you from your area and you are turning away the work how are people from other areas gonna benefit from this? It's a very good idea but i don't see how it would work ie how exactly and why exactly would someone from my area contact you instead of me?

Because I have teamed up with a web optimization company, who can get leads any where. So they will come in nationally. It HAS NO SET UP COST TO CC'ERS.
We all get calls daily from people offering this or that ad deal, amazing new mg, doctors surgery, supermarket cards, web directory etc. This way is a no money up front method, to the cc company, we would book the job, take our commission by debit/credit card and pass the details to the local operator, it works successfully in all kinds of trades, plumbing, drains, skip hire, removals, couriers, loads of them, there is not one for cc yet.
-
surely this is a brilliant idea. It would dramatically cut the amount of leaflets etc us guys need to do. I still don't understand though how the customer finds you?
-
Jason surely though mate it would enable someone to build up a large customer based business in no time then everybody will want abit of the pie and the market will be even more flooded?
-
I'd put your percentage up Jason. If your offer is genuine and there are no catches you will get lots of takers.
Either you have super sales people or lots of doorknockers who are paid peanuts, I can't see a margin in it.
No money up front, promise?
-
i think this is a fantastic idea think about it if u put out 1000 leaflets and get 3 jobs each job has cost u say a tenner but if u could giv someone 3 leaflets and they knew the 3 letter boxs to put them though to get u the 3 jobs u gladly giv him the 30 pounds, and dont forget the times u put out 1000 leaflets and get nothing but still cost u this way it costs u but u get a result for every penny spent
-
Matt , there will be safeguards in place ,,,, clearly , those willing to be most flexible about where they work , the ones with least complaints, the ones with best feedback , would recieve the most work.
The guy I am working with sells 50-100 jobs nationwide per day (different yet demographically similar market), with 2 staff, at £5 to £15 per job, all commision is paid to a merchant account at the time of booking, so its good cash flow, the commission is paid as a deposit so there are few cancellations.
To make it legal , all operators who wish to recieve work need to contact me with the prices they are willing to work for , other wise price fixing regulation laws are broken. That is why I can not list prices.
-
ok, so how local are we talking 5, 10 15 or more miles? and i know you wouldn't be able to garantee a certain amount of work per week but how many jobs do you think you can offer people? it seems a bloody excellant idea mate i must say i can't see what there is to lose. Basically you will be gaining from us gaining.
-
It is just another potential source for work, and these optimization companies take a while to do thier thing, I HAVE NEVER STATED THAT THERE WAS ANY GUARANTEE OF WORK, this service is carried out in many service industries, and is not a new idea at all, it is just new to cc.
-
This is a good idea, however how do we know it is Genuine and not just trying to build the franchise side of the business up ???
-
The NCCA allready operate this system, They also monitor and regulate a set professional standard for the carpet cleaning market through training, and all associates have to be fully insured before joining.
In the two months I've been carpet cleaning in my area I've received 4 referrels from the NCCA and they have been paying customers.
Regards,
Fletch. :)
-
it does sound all to easy ???
-
???
Nothing is ever EASY or FREE if it was we would all be doing it.............
Dont you think it would be a conflit of interest IF you are trying to franchise CC also?.................
-
Yes I am aware of the NCCA, they are relatively passive on the net though, and do not SELL the job for you, they pass out leads.
This is not connected with my own cc operation which is a franchise at all.
Stand on any high street, and try and hand out 10 pound notes, it has been proven that only 40% will take them, no questions asked.
Of course this is a commercial operation, one I feel is a win-win for all.
If you are at the top end of the market price wise this is not for you, like wise if you are at the bottom end, this is not for you.
-
would this affect my standing as you are 1 of my nearest rivals?
If I pass you my prices you could take advantage.
Shaun
-
Shaun, I already know your prices, you do a different method and service to me, carpet broker pitches prices in the mid range, and is not out to undercut any one, but to get new customers into having carpets proffessionally cleaned, who would not prevously do so.
The response all after noon has been overwhelming, I have put red pins on a uk map, and at least half the uk has a willing operator at a reasonable price, within 15 miles. sorry if I have not yet responded to you all with furthur details, but I will in the next 24 hours. Thanks to all the forward thinking people who have been supportive.
-
Yes the NCCA are passive and only give you a lead to a potential customer! but if your operating a business and you want it to be a sucsess, you then need to have your own unique approach and individualism to sucseed.
If you want somebody to hold your hand, then you might aswell work for somebody else and pack in your business.
Regards,
Fletch.
-
I am interested what do you call reasonable prices?
Shaun
-
Is it like this?
www.myworkman.co.uk
-
Could be like that, I was thinking the other way around.
You google 'carpet cleaning' and then you go to the site and then click on your region with price guides, you put your name address and deposit down and then a comfirmation of details come through to a cc from HQ all you have to do is contact client on when and where.

I work for
Large lounge £69, average lounge £49, dinning room £39, double bedroom £39, single bedroom £34.95
stairs £24.95, landing £24.95, hall £24.95
suites, £24.95 a seat, and rugs i make up as i go along
Am i dear or cheap ???
Anyway, if you can get me work local to me at my normal rates i would be a fool to say no really, so if you can let me know.
-
Imight add thaat I have researched this for a while, and will be looking to charge a little above the average prices that were quoted by independent carpet cleaners around the country, most people who have contacted me are at that level, the ones that are higher, my best wishes go with you.
-
I would be intrested in finding out more about it, however how do we know that our local competors are not just going to look at what we are charging ?? if you are going to publish the prices.
-
Who cares if they do?
-
I am interested if it doesn't infringe with your cleaning business but would like to know what prices I would be needing to charge.
If you could let me know
or please contact me 0114 2854687
-
Jason, i am always looking at new ways of generating more business, however, if you stated the prices you are looking to target then im sure it would put more people in the picture? Rather than a cloak and dagger personal email that the rest of us(forum) cannot see.
I am interested as to how this would work but very curious-and jubious?
Damian.
-
I suppose this may sound dubious but Jason is a good honesy lad, I've spoke and met him quite a few times and he has bought items from me and has always paid in full on time.
I can recommend him
Shaun
-
Shaun i am not questioning Jason's integrity! However i am failing to see where this will lead? Personally i never tell people on this forum what i charge and what benefits i give my customers. Period. Like i stated i am always open(up)for new ventures and always praise a well-doer! However, MORE than most men, i am a stickler for knowing the ins and outs and WILL NOT dip my toe in to see if the water is quite clement!(there is always a fool to do that-free of charge!) If the prices are applicable then i maybe interested?
Damian.
-
post not really meant to you but to all.
Shaun
-
hi jason i wish you the best of luck but in my opinion the prices you quoted me in a p/m are for the lower end of the market. i know you dont want to publish prices for what ever reason you give but the uphlostery prices you want to quote would equate to the average time spent [ i guess] on a typical suite at £20 to £25 an hour take travel and costs in to consideration and there is not much profit in that for a cc so i cant see the incentive unless the cc is just starting out and if thats the case the chance of getting a top class job has got to be less. this then could lead to further problems call backs bad reputation etc etc no offence meant just an observation
-
LOL what a load of rubbish! Do you guys honestly think there is a magic internet website out there that is going to attract you ALL lots of customers?
In my area I'm on page one of google and normally come out number one on msn, how would this internet site get me more inquiries? It`s just another of the 10s of directories that are already out there, fair enough if it`s free to join then you have nothing to lose but don`t go thinking it`s the next great marketing miracle.

Well if certain people do not wish to participate and recieve work that is fine, I HAVE NEVER SAID IT IS AN AMAZING MARKETING TECHNIQUE. Nor promised huge volumes of work. The astute people have already cottoned on that this is free work.... the advertising/marketing cost is already taken(via my commission)
Therefore say for example you are turning over 100,000 a year, and you now pay 10,000 in marketing costs, for every £100 job you do you are paying £10 to get it( in fact you are probably paying more since some of your work will no doubt be repeat/referral ) .
All I am doing is getting leads and converting them to sales, if you dont like it , no need to forward your details, there are plenty of people who do!
The prices are slightly above the national average, which equates out around £250 a day, if you earn more I am happy for you, good luck. In my own business I charge more than that I have chosen to seek out the middle market, as it is easier to sell on the phone to.
