portable eberspacher?

Post by: CARPET KNIGHTS on November 11, 2006, 08:20:53 pm
Well done everybody especially Craig.

It's a kind of portable eberspacher apart from the power supply.

Got the fuel tank off ebay, it's from a go kart and a perfect size. The Toolbox was £8.99 with a baby one aswell from Homebase and inside is my eberspacher that i took out of my old van when i sent it to van heaven. Couldn't be arsed to mess around with fuel lines under van so built this.

It will sit in a purpose built shelf on the bulk head in my van with the pipes going out through the bottom of the van through one of those screw type hatch covers. will be fitting on of those cigarette lighter connections to hook it up to the power this way i can take it outand use it in the shed with my adapter.

In the summer i can take it out and store and have an extra shelf for storage in the van

Cheers Goron

what a load of messing about, what an abortion, what an eye sore
why dont you just plug in a heater to mains or have a frost defender , that are suitable for green houses
cant see the point!! cant see anybody wanting one, and to be honest I doubt it will work for long, and just as your having a peacful night sleep , you will up and finf your van on fire :) ;D

Hi shaun no melted plastic as the hot air vent is outside of the box and the exhaust is insulated.

Geoff

It is actually quite a good peice of kit, around £800 - £900 pounds new! A lot of cleaners use these and they are very reliable, I used to fit them into fishing boats and motor cruisers in mypast life as a marine engineer and they go on for years. don't have facilities to park van outside of house at night so cannot use mains heater and if you are talking about those little parafin heaters, they produce a lot of condensation so no thanks. And as to your comment saying can't see anybody wanting one, well i'm not offering anybody one! simply showing what i have made to possibly give others ideas.

Cheers Goron

Rich Hand.

Make sure you wrap your machine well and don't forget to drain down the pump and hoses at the end of the day. I put a pillow under my portable and cover it with a duvet and tuck it in all round. make sure that the solution valve on the wand is wrapped in a few towels.

If you do not protect your kit you will be replacing your pump and solution valve (guaranteed)!!!!!

Hope this helps you
