It seems very expensive to me for the job it does.
Anyone using it?
What do you think?
I hate to think I'm missing out!
-
It's heavy but well made.

I borrowed one of these to try and I wasn't that impressed. It's heavier than I thought it would be and the brush is a joke, very few bristles which are too soft and the jets are not far enough apart for the width of the brush. I also found it awkward in confined spaces to lower or raise due to the fact that you need to unscrew the bottom section to remove. This is a two man pole when used at anything over 40ft if you need to adjust it (we were using it at about 55ft) and is just too expensive to justify it's cost. Telescopic are much easier when doing runs of windows.
You weren't going to buy one anyway PJ ;D

No, but I love it when I'm right! ;D
-
we have one and all the replies are right , they are heavy and the brush is a joke , i believe we wasted money on this pole there are better and cheaper available
live and learn
p.s the best bit is the bag it comes in!!!
-
Strange, I bought specifically for a 50ft job in a narrow street with overhead cables.
It does the job for me brilliantly ;D
However , I do agree that the brush is crap and that it is over priced.
-
so aztec what would you recomend ... ?
shawn
-
i would recommend tucker poles, they are very user friendly and light too
-
you can easyly put a different brush on the Unger Hi Flo, (there is a range of different styles of brush coming in the near future) it's very easy to modify - i know a few who use it with Vikan brushes and they love it.
It's far easier to use than a telescopic at height over 40ft. The only people who don't get on with it are the ones who haven't used it correctly. Its a completely different tool. We think their great!
-
what are you trying to say foxman we dont use poles correctly !!
we were the first in the country to have them so i doubt there is anyone more qualified to talk about the pros and cons of poles mate
-
Hi aztec,
I know what hes trying to get at. Alot of people, infact most of the wfp operators in the U.K cant even use there poles properly. Or think they know, but there all very wrong im affraid.
Im not saying anything bad about certain users, there work is of the exact same standard as the guy who know what hes doing, but the effort and strain they put themselfs under to achive such a working practise is actually quite dangerous.
Basically If you employ people and let them work poles over or around 30ft. It would be silly even very stupid to teach them bad and dangerous habbits.

Spot on ProPole, that is exactly right. It's all about technique.

Know i know thats not true. Where did you buy it from?
-
1993 we adopted ONE of the first it was custom made by a water purification company in horsham
-
1993!! Is that the one you still use or did you buy another recently? If it is the same one, that is excellent value for money - it's lasted 13 years!
-
13 years!
that's excellent wfp's were only thought of 12yrs ago i believe
-
Tucker in the USA 40 years ago!
We catch on eventually!

I wasn't meaning anything either Chris. No offense meant. You are probably right about this Country. I was amazed to find out Tucker Poles had been in existence so long! That was all really.

none taken :) :)

Wasnt Ionics the first in the U.K 1996, 10 years ago.
-
That's what I had in mind
-
was it not ott, if my memory is right, i bought my first fibreglass pole from them, ::)

Wasnt Ionics the first in the U.K 1996, 10 years ago.
Ionics (formerly Over The Top which may have had a name change due too the OTT price gags) took the Tucker pole (which has been around for decades beforehand) and improved on it then dragged it into the new millenium. Basically everyone who has made more money since going WFP has Ionics to thank. As a company they have single handedly changed an industry, despite what people think of them, and a hell of a lot of Window Cleaning Co's are better off for it.
It does make me laugh when you see the company who aggressively pushed the WFP into the cleaning world then turn around when marketing a zero waste RO with the 'if you have a social conscious about wasting water' you should buy this! If it wasn't for you guys i wouldn't be wasting water in the first place thanks!
