Title: Round Organiser Updated
Post by: carlfoster on November 06, 2006, 06:43:45 pm
Hi all, I noticed a number of people have had problems when trying to download Round Organiser, the window cleaning database I made for myself, but have now provided as a free download to anyone who wants to give it a try. If you still want to use it here is a link to download: I don't know why but you have to right click and select save as for it to work.

http://www.freewebs.com/matthiasdete/Round%20Organiser%20Setup.exe

You will also need to update it with the latest fixes here: http://www.freewebs.com/matthiasdete/Round%20Organiser%20Update%202.exe

Please note that at the moment, you will need Microsoft Access version 2003 to run it. The next update will be available for ver 2000 users too. If I have enough interest in the product, I will consider making a standalone program to use without Access. Thanks for your interest. Any questions or problems, please don't hesitate to ask.

Carl

The download seems to work for me and some others. I'm not sure what could be causing your problem Richardson

Marcus, normally it is part of the MS Office package, which has word, excel etc. I will be making it available to Access 2000 users with the next patch.

Hi Michael

What version of windows are you using? Also, can you describe what happens when you try to open the setup file? If your problem continues, I can email it to you.

I got it to work but i had to up my resolution to 1024 x 768

Shame really as everything always seems to small for me at that resolution.

Will you be bring a version out for those of us who use 800 x 600 resolution as i did look good.

Hi Paul
I had the same trouble with the first version and couldn't use it for the same reason,
But Carl updated it for us, and now mine is working brilliant,

I have had a couple of problems with the programme but in the end Carl sorted it for me, and Yes it was down to user error  ::)

Hi guys, I've sent you emails with the info you need about the program.

I'm sure you will find it very easy to use now. If you have any problems or queries, please feel free to ask.

Carl :)

P.S. Remember, I made this program for myself and am allowing people to use it for nothing. All I ask is for feedback so I can improve on the design

Hi Gary

The software itself will not work on such devices as it needs Access to run and as far as I know, Access isn't available on Palm tops or pocket PCs. I do however have a future plan to adapt it to carry data across to a pocket PC to use on your work for the day.

Just a continuation of this topic out of interest. I'm looking at making it into a standalone program that doesn't need Access to work.

I would most likely follow the basic design and concept, but extend it with a lot more capabilities and functions. I would hope to hear from all of you what you would like in such a program and then the possibility is there to tailor make something that everyone will like, at a fraction of the cost of the programs out there today.

Would you be interested in something like this? The opportunity to be involved in the design of a program to take care of records for all types of cleaning work?
