You could say:

"I am sorry but I am unable to provide you with a quote on this occasion"

You may need to have a reason why but sure you can think of something, like allergic to cats or dogs,  or whatever.

You could always have a 'get out of jail card' such as in a hurry and only have a limited time and may not be able to confirm today.  So you can leave quickly and contact her after the visit with the bad news.

I've been trying to get rid of some customer who live about 20 miles from my home, i just can't be bothered to go all that way. by the time i drive there & back i could have done another job. but its hard when they know you and always are so friendly when they call :-\ :-\

I had a landlady call me yesterday for a small bar area to be cleaned, to my suprise she already knew the price of the clean ??? £59 as it fell in my min charge.

I said how do you know how much it is going to be? she said that I had cleaned a carpet for her friend about the same size and she would pay the same.

I said is it sticky and black and got chewing gum on it? she said oh yes, she had tried ceaning it a few days earlier but with no success. So I said "I don't want to do it for £59" she says "oh but you did Mrs XXX for that" I said "hers was much easier and cleaner and yours would cost alot more to do"

Silence

ringing tone

NEXT !
