I've done it but can't tell much difference!
-
No matter how many times you try - try harder ;)

What size is the channel you dog eared?
-
I 'dog eared' early on in my short window cleaning career; and have done ever since, so I don't know the difference to be honest.
It doesn't hurt though.
-
been window cleaning for 14+ years and only started to dog ear 18monhs ago (a bit of magic picked up from this forum) a trick that saves time detailing thus makes more cash due to increased turnover..
put simply its a very good tip

Dogearings,
you will find that you will use more rubber as it wears on each corner alot faster than normal.
I find when using the squeegee you just need to put a bit of pressure to the leading edge and you will find that this becomes second nature and you wont even know that you are doing it.
You will find the amount of water also determins the amount of detailing, use loads of water and you will need to detail use less and little or no detailing will be needed, also the type of frame has alot to do with it.
Hope this helps and it's IMO
Regards :) :)

What do you do to dog ear? Do you just cut the straight edge off?
-
no i bend the tip's towards the blade!! ??? ???
-
Call me stupid, but what on earth is dog earing? ???
-
me too not got a clue what is it
-
on your squeegee you'd use pliers or a vice clamps to bend the tips of your channel foward hence creating pressure on the nds to be able to get more water from the edge of the window hence less "detailing" is required!! (in theory) ::) ::)
