Title: Truckmount Wand Question
Post by: Matt Read on October 31, 2006, 06:59:39 pm
My wand stopped working today and i eventually discovered that the jets were blocked up. I removed the wire mesh filters washed out the jets and replaced leaving the mesh out.

Is this going to cause any problems in the future ? i can't see why it would.

Also i've been using the prochem powders i got with the truckmount and am assuming a liquid detergent/rinse is going to help not cause this ,does anyone have any recommendations for a liquid detergent that works at high heat and is fairly economical ?

These filters are there for a reason  ::)

I would say by not having them and if you have brass jets they will wear our quicker as jets need replacing every 6 - 12 months so I would suggest buying stainless

Those filters are there to stop your jets blocking up!
Why would you take them off, only needs a small partical to block them.

If the wire mesh filter in the wand has a white, what looks like lime scale on it, then this is usually caused by the chemicals. (or Lime scale)

Just use a small wire brush to clean the mesh filter. and replace it. clean and /or replace your jets with Stainless steal as suggested above.

I clean my filters every time I service my machine which is every 100 hours. I have never had a blocked jet that can't be sorted out with a nylon bristle brush being run over them.

it may be wise also to invest in a water filter this will prevent any problems like this occuring providing you keep the resin fresh
