Hello we have now been cleaning your windows for over 12 months and due to rising costs (insurance , fuel etc) we are having to raise prices slightly to offset these costs.
We are raising prices by £1.00 so you rnext clean will be ?
We value your custom and hope the above increase is satisfactory.
If however you would like (name of company) to discontine our service could you please leave a message.
I hope the above is ok for you.
Thats what i use and all clients have been ok.

I used to be kinda apologetic about it, till i realised that apologising made it seem like i was doing something wrong! but now i just tell em "the prices are going up next month, it'll be a pound more" and they're generally ok with it.

I too need to put my prices up a wee bit. When I started I didn`t really have much of a pricing structure and I have about 3 or 4 houses that make me cringe at the moment. I think I can put up with it till the end of the year. My plan is to be honest with the people and tell them that I underpriced at the start and the real price will be ......
Hopefully they will be ok with it, if they don`t like it they they can lump it as the saying goes.

It's funny how that goes, because everytime you go to a house that you underquoted, you do really cringe!
I had to put up one customer 2 pounds yesterday haha :o ;D

I have just bought a lot of work off a window cleaner who is retiring.
Did the work yesterday and today and wish I had not bothered.
Big houses small prices.
I don,t know how he made a decent living.
Put half of them up ( all ok and one went up to £30.00 from £18.00 and still fine)
I do not know why window cleaners undersell themselves.
Can,t grumble as I only paid £1,000 for £21,000 work.
It,s got potential but I am going to have to work on my customers to get them round to my way of thinking.
If all else fails I will sell off my wetherby area and keep the Harrogate work (a lot higher prices.
I also love my job but hated it yesterday and today because of the crap prices.
Good luck
