Hello there best thing to do is start off with
(1) how much you charge per hour normally, I charge £25
(2) How long will it take-----Per side 30-45 mins
(3) Add on £10 when you have worked out the top two just in case.
I always follow these 3 things sometimes the job doesnt take as long as i worked out and if i'm in a honest mood i'll drop the price when i'm done.

hi 007, do u use a pole system, and do u just jet wash them or vac them as well ?
cheers gary

The only rael way of cleaning out a gutter is to get up there have a look and clean it out whilst your there.
Just make sure someone is footing your ladder!!
How can you say the gutter is cleaned out properly if you never take your feet off the ground?
We charge £30 per side
-
hi becuse it has a cam on the pole. then u just use vacs to suck crap out and then clean it at the same time with high powered steam all from the ground
-
Gutter cleans, we always charge £1.00 a foot.
-
£1 per foot
how many feet do you find in the gutters you clean - must be really rough where you live ronny :-\

I priced one up today 4 bed detached house about 1 1/2 hours work ididn't really want it so quoted her £100 thinking she would say no and told her i only do them when its raining .
She said i will ring you back later today just need to clear it with my husband.
An hour later she rang back yes thats fine can you do it next time it rains.
Then she said can you add me to your books for the window cleaning.
I used to charge £20 per side this house has got gutters on 3 sides so works out £33.33 per side.
So from now on im going to price these higher as people will pay it especially now as this is when they start to come in.
I also charged someone this week £10 to inspect her gutters
Im not doing anything for nothing.
But they did need doing so didn't charge her the £10 as i did the job whilst there.
But she said ok to a £10 inspection

Just curious, do you use a petrol hoover or electric as I was thinking of using a petrol hoover but I'm not too sure on the connection of hoses running up the side or through the pole and the gutter vac attachment- would appreciate your comments!
-
Nicely put gazza..... :P
-
I charge £10 a side too. And customers moan!
-
i would rather not do it ???

hi iam still waiting for prices on cam, iam going to use one of my carpet cleaning machines which are eletric and stay in my van, thier is a firm just started making a system for gutter cleaning with vac ,,cam, and poles , from looking at the site the poles hav an attachement at the top to fit vac hose in a hook shape ,the pole is water fed inside ,the cam must be fitted somewere at top of pole but i couldnt c it , id say that u could get bit comm work with this ie local councils etc not just for cleaning but surveys as well , u can record every thing on cam, with all this health and saftey stuff now are people like council workers alowed up ladders? these sytems can be used over 40 ft so u can use it for allsorts of jobs even vacuming bird droppings of town hall buidings 30- 40ft up et etc

Does anyone do this, take the gutter off, wash it down then put it back up.
Sometimes quicker and easier to do.

We have been using a Northern Tool Gutter Lance for over a yhear now and charge £25 per side (extra for any front Porches).
I have been thinking of adding a van and camera but am struggling to fing how it can be done without electricity (forcing the customer to be in).
Has anyone discovered battery operated hoovers strong enough to do the job and any cameras to do the same.
Thanks,
Sarah

hi you said you got £100 for cleaning a gutter, why not? if you don't clean it who is? a builder would charge that just to put his ladder up.

hi sarah why don't you use a generator. with an extension lead to your hoover, you would get much more power also you wouldn't have to charge batteries all the time.

For those guys looking for Tiny camera to mount on your pole have a look in the argos catalouge they have a small one in there, compleate with a monitor and its radio linked so no wires running down your poles to the monitor, and all battery operated. cat number 701/8473 price £199.99 sounds a bit steep, but belive me its good value for a colour cctv wire free system.

The majority of our gutter cleans are done for existing w/c customers many of which work during the daytime.
We would complete the job and call for payment during the evening.
If they are not one of our regulars we would either take payment in advance (and many do this) or would have to make arrangements for a specific time.
These cleans are generally done twice a year so they tend not to be one offs.

Sarah. So who/do you clean Gutters Trad ?
-
Jeff,
No one gets their gutters cleaned traditionally by us. If its not possible to do it with the Lance or if its too bad a job then we dont do them.
Is that what you were asking Jeff ?

Hi, I have been trying gutter cleaning with the wfp pole. I simply connected it to the tap outside instead of wasting my pure water. Its not the easiest but it does work on cleaning the gutter and facia. I'm going to try it with the vikan sill brush next as I think that would be easier.
I haven't found a way of cleaning the insides yet except for an attachment I've seen to attach to the pole. It is angled into the gutter and basically sprays it out. I think I will try that next. Anyone tried that?

bit messy

I took your advise jeff1 and bought one of those from argos and looking to find a light wait hose as I dont want to use my carpet cleaning hose couse i think it`s to heavy.

Hi Kopuk
When you use it, do a topic on the cctv on here and let others know your findings.
