Having seen Mike Halliday's self built t/m I was wondering if there are any diagrams available on how to build them. He was telling me it cost £2000 to build and the set up was excellent.Where would the best place to buy blowers, engine and other sundries?

ask mike steve ;)
I keep waiting for him to build mine ;D

Steve search the Internet for picture of truckmounts some show you the layout, from these you can get a good idea what goes where.
eg:

then search engines, blowers, pumps on the Internet.
the real talents comes from how to connect them all together, but a precision engineering company can do it easily.
easy really

Easy peasy ???
-
So the Hot Halliday is in the piepline :D :D :D :D :D :D
sorry first post had frowns on it ment to have smileys
Go on Mike you can do it!

At the end of the day it's just plumbing. As long as you use decent components, suitably rated for the job in hand you'll be OK.
-
these picture are of machines which have had the covers removed to show the inside.
its quite easy to put guards over the moving parts
while searching out an engineers to build a frame I found 3-4 companies who specialize in building prototype machines for companies, one of them builds machine for oil rigs & deep sea trawlers, (these places demand 100% reliability) for a £1000 he'd sort out the drive transfer & build a machine for me, I'd just drop of the engine, blower, pump & heat exchanger.
I'm asking a question at the moment about on the ICs board about turning a 56 blower at 1750rpm for my next self build.
basic knowledge of T/M mechanics is all you need to build your own.

It's the hand that gets ripped off or mangeled that i worry about,
Obviously stick it all in a big tin box to prevent amputations!
-
I could find some pictures , but to be truthful I can't be arsed to search the websites for them ;)
ones made by accelerated and is called the unleashed
the other photo I got of EBay.com so search there if you want extra photos
both these machine are made & sold commercially in the Litigious society of the USA so I'm sure they are well aware of the health & safety aspect of their machines.
oil rig and fishing trawlers have the highest incidnece of injurys and digit loss by the way!
that's a very impressive statement to back up your argument, pity its a load of nonsense :D :D

Mike

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D he he just messing with you ;D ;D ;D ;D
when you going to launch it Mike, will it have a propane heater seperate as the one in the picture does'nt seam too, or are you going to add a heat exchager?
-
p.s did you know Torchwood is a anagram of Doctor Who!
yep PMT "Post Mike Tension"is a right bugger
-
is PMT abreviated for Prowler Mounted Truck?
Okay that's it I'm off to bed to wake up the wife.

www.acceleratedcleaning.com/PredatorUnleashed.htm (http://www.acceleratedcleaning.com/PredatorUnleashed.htm)
now we're friends again I'll admit that the 'Unleached' does'nt have a cover ;)
which like you say could be a little dangerous. and as you can see from the link above it uses a propane heater..
to get back to the origanal topic, I like this picture because it gave me the idea to mount my pump on top off my blower as shown on their photo, which is quite a space saver.
Mike
ps' stop flippin posting while I'm typing >:(

hi mike
were did you scource your heat exchangers
whats your thoughts on biesel burners
dacy
-
bought some knacked truckmounts and ripped out the heatexchangers,
diesel burners are fantastic, I've got one that will produce steam out of the wand.
people think they are old technology and heat exchangers have replaced them but when you've got high flow they are unbeatable.
Mike
-
No heat exchanger will ever get close to a fuel burner. Best, Dave.

where did ya get the knackered tm's from mike ?
