Title: Opions on new truck mount
Post by: prodry on October 25, 2006, 01:39:43 pm
I have just bought this Fiat Ducatto van a 54 plate mounted with a Hercules II truck mount all tanks, wands etc..

Van done 2900 miles and tm done 39hours.

Paid £8500.00 for both, from van dealer in wales. Who got it as repo from lombard finance.

I have no knowledge of Hercules II, have I bought a pig? Does anyone else use one?

Woodbridge say they still service them and parts are still available. Woodbridge said good machine but not that good for upholostery.

I pick it up monday and would appreciate your comments, especially from anyone using one currently or previously.

why so they say it is no good for upholstery?

a similar rig was on ebay not to long ago, think it was the panther!!! but not sure , in a transit ,

transit was much older i think . H e was asking around £4,500   £4,000 just for the t/m
curious as to why no good for upholstery as , i nearly bid for the one on ebay

woodbridge said it was hard to get a reasonable temperature to the hand tool at low pressure. didn't ask if he ment too hot or cold. These machines were originally made for pressure washing and woodbridge adapted them to CCs. The Panther is an intireley different machine I believe.

I'd have bought it, try finding another with those hours/miles at that price!

get a cfr handtool or chemspec moisture control to and increase the pressure to increse the heat, with those you'll still not overwet even at a reasonably high pressure

i think the problem is with the heat when cleaning upholstery, not enough flow to trip the burner in.

sonds like a good deal to me. Keep it for a while if you dont like cleaning with a t/m then you can always sell it on and you have lost very little money :)

some upholstery tools have a return valve before the jet so you can keep heat and pressure up the only downside is you'll use more water. When you`ve bought it all at that price i'm sure its worth finding a way!!!!  :)

Thanks fellas for the advice I will look into CFR or simmilar. Will talk to Woodbridge see what they recommend, altough as far as I am aware they dont sell anything simmilar to CFR.

I dont know what the van is worth, but I would think a van with only 2900 miles on the clock would almost fetch that price alone, so it dosen't seem like you have paid much for all the equipment in there.

I can't believe for 1 minute the machine has only done 39 hours, thats about 2 weeks work! :o

Anyone know what the van is worth?

Phil

Not sur on the 39 hours myself. maybe it only did, thats why it was snatched back by finance co.

How easy are they to clock?

Van is worth 6k to 6.5k. some with vat and some without-dependant on it being trade or dealer? seems a decent buy to me ;)
