Hi
Their is a local company to me that I know is NCCA Certified but only the owner is certified, This owner has never done a days cleaning in his life as he employs technicians to do the cleaning.
Having met some of these techinicians on my travels they have told me that they have not done a days training in the lives and have never taken the exams.
So my question is how can this company sell themselves as NCCA without the experience or training qualifications to go along with it except the owner that did the course just to use it as a sales ploy.
Only ask because I came up against their salemans quoting the other day selling his cleaning on the fact that the company is a member of NCCA.
Am I wrong or surly this can not be right. Surley every employ should do the course and pass the exam before the company can use the NCCA as a sales ploy

As things stand at present, the senior person or proprietor of the business must be trained to NCCA standards in order to qualify for NCCA Full Membership. At present, one in three of the technicians must also be suitably trained.
If the member of whom you speak has more than three technicians, and none of them are trained, then by all means inform our office on 0116 271 9550.
But this is about to change. As from next renewals (April 2007) Every technician must be trained to a level acceptable to the NCCA.

Thanks for your comments, I will join if this change happens as I found this as a negative for joining NCCA because compaines ignore the rules and with due respect found that the Company owner that never cleaned should not be able to claim that the business is supported by the NCCA when he has only passed the basic exam and never cleaned.
How long do companies have to get their staff qualified when the change goes through.

We have had a campaign of keeping all members informed of the change for about, I think it is, two years. It all starts on the first of April.
The type of scenario you have described with a non hands-on owner was inevitable as, especially with larger companies, the owner/MD or whoever, would never be expected to do the work, but is involved with running the business. You could liken this to Richard Branson not piloting a 747 :o The new One to One Rule will eliminate this situation.
