If you're slating off ladders that's against the law! All tiling work, whether slates or double-romans must be done from a scaffold. ;D

Fast,

Calm down mate. No one with any sence is going to REALY slate ladders.  In fact most of us think the WAHR are a load of male genitals!!
But, for my part, I am pleased to not have to use my ladders all day.

Good point. I just think its down to personal preferance. It seems when people invest in a wfp system, all of a sudden they get on their high horse and turn their noses up at trad.Whats their problem?Does it really matter? And for the person who would honestly grass someone up for using a ladder, what a ****.Its stupid

Trade out number wfp to 1000/1    I only see about 1 wfp every month and i do about 500 miles a week, round manchester stockport,And if ladders are banned what was that fireman doing up his ladder, and why do shops still sell ladders,BQ/FOCUS/AND ALL DIY STORES,i think all wfps are a bit thick thinking ladders are banned.well most of them.

Chaps,

I can understand you thinking this BUT hang on a minute.  I am FULLY WFP and wouldn't go back to ladders.  BUT I admire ANYONE who works honestly, hard and safely with ladders Squeegee and scrims.  So don't YOU start knocking WFP!

Hi guys,
So, this ladder debate, again.
I'm no expert, but the first paragraph on the link below seems to sum things up.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 do not ban ladders. They require that ladders should only be considered where a risk assessment has shown that the use of other more suitable work equipment is not appropriate because of the low risk, and short duration of the task or considerations of where the work is located.

http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/heightreg.htm

I would love to be able to get a wfp setup, but with a new baby, money is way too tight. However, I've noticed that on a lot of my jobs, wfp would cause problems, due to frames in bad condiction, (paint peeling, missing putty, etc). So, I guess I'm saying that I would use both methods, to be able to do more work.

Again, I'm not saying the above is right, just the way it sems to me.

Thanks

Jay

dont confuse the issue.

its not WFP verses Ladders  ::)

its not about if you can clean every window.

its about Safety  :)

it is safer to clean a window from the ground than up a ladder more often than not.

Thats all.

Its very simple.

come on ladder boys... you know the rest  ;)

We use wfp and trad, but mostly we use trad. But we all prefer trad to wfp because t's more skilled and it suits our rounds. I get enjoyment and job satisfaction from using a squeegee!!   ;D ;D
