Hi
I need some help please, I have been asked to quote for a new commercial 2 storey building. most windows are no problem access wise. But there is a flat roof where ladder access is definitely required to get to the windows over the roof. There is a steel "tying off" cable (if that is what it is called!!) running the entire length of the flat roof obviously put there to satisfy HSE regulations. From what I can see there are NO anchor points to secure the ladder to on the walls so the ladder would have to be footed with a rojak. The propiertors have asked for a copy of my certification to enable me to access the windows via the flat roof, I'm assuming some form of harness certification so that I can anchor to the steel cable.
Can someone advise me of where I can get the training and certificate for this, please.
thanks
Greg.

If you need a safety harness it should have a certificate to prove it has been checked over at regular intervals.
You can go on a safety harness course at lots of places here is one of them, or just put a search in google
http://www.nationwideaccess.com/products/training.asp
They cost about £95 and last the morning

You will require a flat roof access training cert normaly valid for 3 years, I am sure that Ionic do them as well as many others just do a search.
The cable you mention is almost certenly a latchway fallarest system this device fits on a full body harness, then onto the cable this runs along tha cable as you walk along
I hope this helps good luck!
