Does anybody know how to get furniture indents out of a carpet, i have been told ice works???? so over to you guys.

you can improve the indents with normal cleaning by lifting the pile but you will never completely remove them if the heavy furniture has been there for some time. not only is the top pile crushed but also the backing is indented if the carpet has underlay.

If you can get the carpet pulled back place some small squares of stiff plastic where the indentations are. This then pushes the back of the carpet into shape. Pile can be raised using a small steamer or your hand tool. Might not look perfect but it will be a good visual improvement.

I`ve once heard that letting an ice cube melt on the indent works.....
sounds like an old wives tale, i`d be interested as to weather or not this works
Well i wouldn`t actually but it`s nice to join in a conversation, :-\
having said that, please still tell me if it does work....or not ::)

All ice does is melt and the water bulks up the fibres. It does work to a degree but there is the risk of causing a browning stain especially on wool.
