Hi Guys
I had the guy for Dry Fusion come over today to carry out a demo clean at some empty offices I was cleaning.
Just out of interest I suggested we both cleaned to make a comparison.
He ran the DF along one half of the office while I cleaned the other half with CFR (the carpet is synthetic Huega tiles).
I carried out a pre-spraying with Solutions No 2 and clear water rinse.
He used DF restore pre-spray then activator on his pads.
Results were DF dried within 30-45 minutes and the tiles were impressivley clean and it was much faster with much less effort.
CFR performed well but the tiles on my half were still damp on leaving after 2hrs, while the appearance of the clean was acceptable, side by side I would have to say Dry Fusion out performed.
The other thing that struck me was the smaller amount of kit carried, the CFR took some lugging :'( up two flights of stairs and along with the hoses, buckets, sprayers, wands,Sebo & chemicals etc it looked like I had three times the amount of kit, to carry out the same job.
I think I will be joining the ranks of the Fusioneers before to long ;)

Interesting Post,
What would have been a good comparison would be say Dry Fusion against Charley Pads and Solutions.
Same sort of kit but a HUGE difference in start up costs as a lot of us have rotaries anyway.

Trevor,
Very interesting to hear the results of a rel-life demo !
It will be interesting to hear any comments if you re-visit the site in the future as visible results can sometimes be 'cosmetic.
Marks' scenario would be revealing.
Thank for the info.,
John.

I'll let you know,
As I am doing the floor above it next month and the floor below it the month after. ;)

Hi Guys
Is this a private spat between two scots or can we all join in , afterall I've got a scottish name!
The Dry Fusion thing does intrigue me !
Is it an old method which skilful operators can use to good effect or is it a new way forward?
I've seen these things quoted at £3500 so its obviously a decision worth thinking about.
Any comments gratefully received.
Cheers,
Doug

What speed and size is the Truvox?

hi how much for the duplex please thanks Danny

Hi Doug
Yes it is a move forward within the industry and yes it relies on an old method in part. The old technology is a rotary machine as a means of providing agitation via pad, but that's where the similarity ends. The combination of the machine, the heat (from the on board heater) the pads and the chemistry provides a self contained efficient cleaning system. In my opinion, it excells on low profile carpets, but is effective on most other types. This week I also cleaned (maintained) a busy pub carpet. Results are stunning. I've got a photo of that too. I don't know how to post that on Cleanitup, so I'll post it on one of the other UK boards for you to see. The training and skill required for using Dry Fusion and the other Low Moisture Systems is pretty minimal. As long as an operative is able to follow some very simple basic instructions it's easy to achieve high standards. Because I'm the best CC in the village of Alvechurch it's a doddle for me ::)
The purchase of a Low Moisture System such as Dry Fusion, even at £3500 is a very cheap way of tapping into the lucrative market of office carpet cleaning. Much lower cost than a T/M and, some of us would debate, superior in many cases.
Safe and happy cleaning:)

Woodman whats your findings when you returned?
-
I thought woodman had texatherm??
Anyway with this day out on 31st is it possible to tape off 7 areas of equal size and stained carpet. Then clean with eclispe, recoil, truckmount, cfr, dry fusion, texatherm, charly pad etc so we can all establish which performs side by side.
thanks

there was no diffirence that I could tell when I went back, the girls in the office said that for the first couple of weeks one half did look cleaner but couldn't remember which :-\
No Mark
No way of doing that I'm afraid even if they agreed, which they wouldn't. ;)
-
Trevor - I was under the impression you had a Texatherm.

I have got Texatherm
This was a demo clean carried out by DF at the office and run along side CFR which I used..
I then tried to buy a DF system but unfortunately at the time they were experiencing problems with orders and their office never returned any calls.
I gave up and got the Texatherm system which I am very happy with.
-
So whats your thoughts on CFR v Tex v ordinary HWE on residential carpet?
thanks
Mark

Yes, interesting comparison test, but if one half was drier than the other it is bound to look better. The true comparrison (in cleanability) would be to inspect once both halves were dry.
A couple of years ago I carried out a similar tesy with a colleague, in my home.
We have a largish kitchen with carpet tiles covering the floor area. I TM extracted one half with Crystal Green, he used DF on the other half. The DF half dried in about 2/3rds of the TM side. On drying out completely there was no difference at all and both resoiled at the same rate.

Hi All,
As I have mentioned on the board before alot of people seem to turn there noses up at the dry fusion systyem.
I have been using dry fusion for a year now and it has been the best investment I have made since I started up in 1997.
I would recommend that anyone who is interested call for a demo to see the results for yourselves.
Obviously there are always going to differences of opinion between which systems are better than others but unless you try for yourself you are only going to rely on hearsay.
it excells on low profile commercial in my opinion and I have also cleaned a number of domestic carpets with excellent results.
In short, excellent cleaning results, time saved, easy to use and set up and dry in 30 minutes.
